Doesn't all that daisy chaining of signal give you noise problems, Paul?

You'll need to SHOUT, Martin. He can't hear you for all the buzzing!

Doesn't all that daisy chaining of signal give you noise problems, Paul? It possibly would if all of the pedals were on all of the time, Martin. As it is I'll probably be using combinations of three or four pedals at a time, with the others all switched off. If there is noise I might have to think about investing in (yet) another pedal, a "Noise Gate". When you look at the huge pedal boards and equipment racks some guitarists use on stage though, with tons of lights around and goodness knows what other sources of RF etc. around, I'm hoping it should be fine. All of my pedals use what they call " true bypass" which means in the " off" position the pedal's circuitry is completely divorced from the effects loop. The other method, which I've avoided, simply places a short-circuit across the pedal circuitry. There are various arguments both for, and against both methods, and another one again that says it makes no bloody difference whatsoever. I just chose to go with all pedals using the same method, and as all of TC Electronic's pedals are true bypass, that's how it turned out. By the way, the company's name is TC Electronic, so when I say "...all of TC Electronic's pedals..." you don't need to grit your teeth and/or groan at the inverted comma. It's meant to be there.

I hope all those little jumper cables have the writing reading from left to right as signal flow.
Hah - you're going to check now, I know it!

We have lift off. All pedals working, and only making the noise that they're supposed to make, when you poke them with a signal from the guitar. The only humming will be when I forget the words.

These arrived today. Cardboard boxes big enough to be buried in 🤣 They are very impressive to listen to. Been a long time since I had a speaker that compliments the crap room I'm in, and these are doing the business. 8 hours of solid listening. No fatigue and an appetite to call in sick at work to do it again tomorrow. Must be a good sign.

Congrats Oliver!
Very interesting choice - I had no idea that Q Acoustics are making speakers of this calibre.

MartinT julesd68 Thanks both. Yeah, they are top quality fare. They have surprised me with how good they actually are and yes, they certainly are of a high calibre. Very pleased.

My Sonus Fabers are a similar slim size / style but front ported as they have to go super close to a rear wall unfortunately.

The floor in the studio here is pretty bouncy and Townshend Podiums work a treat.

That should do the job. But can you put fewer than four slices in it?
