The turntable was £800 The Amp I got second hand for £350 So I guess my budget is £350 - £700. Then you can remove the Spender D7s from your list. They cost £3,600. I will do so thank you, though I am not against second hand.

I got my Frugal Horn 3 speakers from here - Electric Beach Audio
Steve is an real gent to deal with. If you go this route, you will have a fantastic pair of hand crafted, beautifully finished speakers. I have no links to Electric Beach. I am just on of Steve's happy customers.

I am quite happy to admit that this is totally beyond me? "Obtaining Frugal 3 with no Potency on a wand focus. self.feedthebeast Currently I am trying to make a silverwood thanium wand in order to do that i need frugal 3 with no potency. What is the idea level to enchant the wand in order to get this". Comes up when you search for Frugal 3.

Hah! It seems that spelling Frugel with an 'e' is essential... Hi Mr.13. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to consider something like these Vape-driven horns - £760 in natural or black wood finish. Most importantly you can match the leather to your suite. If you send me a pm with your location I'll see if there's a pair near you to see and hear for yourself. Failing that, no problem to supply under return conditions as even though I build to order, they are extremely adjustable regarding room and system integration and there's as much chance you'll want to as finding a Thanium Wand on Ebay

Not a recommendation as such, but I'd advise using an EBay search of speakers within an acceptable radius of your home and trying to blag a listen to a few. You can often pick up great kit at silly prices if it's collection only and local you. It would also give you a chance to widen your experience of different sounds at little cost.

Many thanks gentlemen. Regarding the Beach they would need dust covers, as I have two dogs and three cats. singularity's advice is food for thought. Thank you all.

I am tempted to go down a different route. My grounds-man's father-in-law is a cabinet maker and has offered to make some cabinets for me out of cherry. He says he would also complete them with contemporary varnish. The thing is, am I confident enough to buy a tweeter, mid-range unit, woofer and auxiliary bass radiator myself and solder them to a crossover. I think I would dampen the cabinets with sealed plastic bags of cat litter. Could be good? Could be a disaster?

DIY can be really rewarding. A few of us have DIY speakers You need to follow a route you can trust, that others have already taken as getting the crossover right is no easy matter. Also cabinets are not straightforward unless something like a Open Baffle Kits are the easiest way as it all been worked out for you Do you have DIY experience yourself Whatever you do ,just do not assemble tweeter mid and bass drivers without researching properly what you doing. This is something whilst rewarding, you have to have a good sense of what you need to do

Yes, it's no good buying a crossover from Ebay and just bunging it in any old box with any old drivers.
