Trying to get a small sound production Recording studio together. 24Bit, 16 track recorder directly to PC or stick for that kind of money is amazing.Gone are the days of large studios with masses of gear. As with the old Alesis ADAT or Tascam 'DA88' multitrackers these can be stacked for more channels.

Your right you can do so much for such a small outlay. However you still have to source good sounding equipment, Allen & Heath are brilliant. I used to own one of their big Mixers in the 80's i would not use any other mixer bar Allen & Heath. I presently got a tiny 'ZED 10' USB mixer On order especially to work on my 12" singles before transfering them to digital files.. When i get the money together im looking at buying a big A&H 'ZED R16' Console for Nord Synths im gonna be buying. www.allen-heath.com/ahproducts/zed-r16/www.nordkeyboards.com/products

The type of stuff you hear on early Harthouse Records around 1992-97 which were a German Techno label, however people get the wrong impression as to what Techno is.
I don't listern to prog anymore..

Its a scene I never really got into, so know very little about it. Back in those days I spent most of my time in small dingy rock venues like the Marquee.

You don't need to. You ARE prog! Reasons for dumping Prog Idiotic prices of original LP's Poor recordings of the day, no dynamics, dull lifeless that just not only bores me to tears it will not allow me to get the best from my stereo. i was finding myself listerning to less & less music, most times nothing for a week. Enter Electronic Dance Music, i discovered when it first appeared over here in the early 90's but like Prog there is common garden & there is underground more obscure, i do the latter, stick to certain record labels. Unlike Prog this music was mainly available via 12" singles, sounds best on vinyl by a long margin.. & best of all it all makes for getting me out of a 30 years old depression ive created over Stereos & one style of music. Hopefully long gone now.
