If I use CD direct to the headphone amp, it does.

Personally I've always found speaker cables to make a more fundamental difference than interconnects. In both cases I feel that results tend to differ according to what equipment is used. Overall, NVA Soundcord is easily the best value interconnect I've tried throughout my box swapping odyssey. Next best is Klotz La Grange/AC110/Rega Couple. Worst for me is Nordost but others might like the leaner, brigter sound it gives.

I am OK with the Klotz MC5000 - is that the same Klotz you are referring to, or do they do an RCA set?

MC5000 is a different cable with a two core construction rather than the single core of AC110. I haven't tried Mc5000 but I do tend to prefer the NVA to Klotz unless the system is a bit bright and thin. The Klotz tends to be a bit softer and tubbier than NVA. NVA SSC is even better sonically but it's quite a bit more expensive.

Thanks for feeding back Xquigi. And as previously mentioned, there is nothing wrong with not being able to hear a difference. The Everton cables do a decent job. Maybe a tuner isn't the easiest device to use for comparing cables since the program material keeps changing, so you can't compare the same music with both. I think Kevin was treating himself to a set, so it will be interesting to see what he thinks - although his current configuration doesn't lend itself to interconnect comparisons. Of course, my experience is obviously unique to me. I need a damn fine reason to spend almost as much on interconnects as the equipment cost.

Then why on earth would you reply to a post about interconnect cables with a post about 6 amp mains cable, which as you later state is not really suited to that application?

Just goes to show that different people have different tastes.

Just goes to show that different people have different tastes. It' s something that intrigues me and keeps me interested. If we were in the same room listening to the same kit, I wonder if we'd agree or still form different opinions. I'm pretty sure all three will still be pretty good. That said, I've revisited many things that I've owned previously and very often my own prior opinions have been turned on their head. The room and the partnering equipment can completely change the outcome. i also think my tastes and expectations are evolving with every new experience. You hear a different presentation and sometimes it gives you new reference points. That's why I find box swapping such a rewarding experience.
