- MOD: <removed> that like to broadcast it to the world - White-colllar workers that get paid twice as much for doing jack sh*t while us workers, work our butts off & get paid a pittance {Using the ive worked my way up & been to university to get where i am crap excuse} still does not alter the fact. I suppose my views would be something exactly opposite such as: small minded bigots who still live in the 19th century in their views on sexual minorities (or majorities) workers who have no appreciation of the risk, work and imagination necessary for entrepreneurs to start up successful businesses and provide employment for people who demand security and a steady income. just my point of view.

I quite dislike threads that have a negative premise.

Yet another fav, best, worst and all the spate of questions that have become flavour of the month
Maybe with an agenda lurking in the wings
Nearly as troublesome as DQ was to some

It can be interesting and mirrors the kind of discussion you could have in real life. In that respect, it's exactly like the original Roman concept of a forum.

The secret is not to get all het up when someone expresses an opinion with which you disagree. It's OK to think/say they're wrong, but highly unlikely that you'll get them to change their mind. There's people out there who don't like Shakespeare, or The Beatles; clearly they are deluded, but it's an occasion for pity and sorrow rather than anger.

War in the name of religion. Now I'm going to sound picky, but is war in the name of religion any worse than, say, war in the name of nationalism, or war in the name of capitalism/communism, and, if so, why? War because your god has a different name to our god? For a start, where is the proof that god exists?

War because your god has a different name to our god? For a start, where is the proof that god exists? War because your country has a different name to mine? War because your ancestors lived here a few hundred years back and you'd like to have that land back again? War because you think a certain economic theory written by a dead German gives you carte blanche to invade other countries which don't follow the same doctrines? War because a country in which your country has an economic stake elects a government of which you don't approve? The two major wars last century were fought by people of shared beliefs; French Catholics fighting Austrian Catholics; British Protestants fighting German Protestants. I'm not saying religious wars are any better than other types of wars, just that they're not intrinsically any worse.

For a start, where is the proof that god exists? I'm sure we all have our views but please let's NOT pursue this on TAS. It will always end in tears.
Thank you.

People in "posh" 4 X 4s (mainly women) who won't pull over to let cars pass on narrow roads like we have in rural areas.

The Daily Mail, especially its moronic website version. That's the most popular website at my school on the stats charts. It's full of celebrity shite and no news whatsoever!
