I had noticed that your kit lists were similar! So Martin, how far have you gone with your underlying mains setup (before the regenerator)?
Cheers. Bill

Mike, I think I'm a bit like you - I don't really want to spend loads of time trying out different stuff, however I'm very happy to read and chat and learn from what others have done (and share my experience - when I've got something worthwhile to say). I'd rather spend a bit (or a lot) more now, and then stick with it, than keep on chopping and changing - but who knows, I might get the bug.

So Martin, how far have you gone with your underlying mains setup (before the regenerator)? Oof! From memory, and summarising:
- Dedicated silver plated unswitched double socket - 1.2m earth spike in garden - 4 x passive plug-in filters around house - TV & Sky box isolated with their own filtered feed - Coherent 6D power cables to regenerator & power amp - MCRU No. 9 cables elsewhere - SR Red & AMR Gold fuses
...and, of course, the P10 regenerator itself.

I worked out what my main goals in life were
Stay alive as long as possible Enjoy being alive
As a lot of that enjoyment comes from music I'm happy to upgrade kit to dig more music out of the media

I'd rather spend a bit (or a lot) more now, and then stick with it, than keep on chopping and changing - but who knows, I might get the bug. Thing is it is so damned complicated and long winded. You cannot (I certainly can't) reliably compare kit from yesterday to today to next day ad infinitum - and boy what a chore. And if you are listening to just say an amp the rest of the system needs to be the same. Better things to do with my time Forums are a great help to finding kit and knocking out the "don't buys" Listening to someone else's system, as I did with Martin's gives the reality. I too will spend more upfront to save multiple upgrades. Different with mains cables and interconnects as I struggled to believe they could make that much difference Once you're more or less there you can fiddle around a bit with single bits of kit. Bizarrely I think my system sounded superb some many minor upgrades ago. Having such improvements up from where I was I find hard to believe - good though !
