It gets a good write-up on this AOS thread ... theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?28546-CD-Mats-do-work&p=516773&highlight=marigo#post516773As you can see from that thread, I really like what the mat does. And MartinT thought it the best of those he tried. So why am I selling? ... It requires someone with a bit more patience than me to actually put the dang thing on and take it off at the end of play. I find that I just don't do it! I put the mat up for sale on the Wam a few weeks ago, then tried it again and withdrew it from sale. But despite that resurge of enthusiasm I still don't actually use it! So the mat just sits on my shelf unused and unloved. Someone give it a loving, caring home, please.

Essential for CDs that play the right way up (IE, not Pioneer Stable Platters)

Essential for CDs that play the right way up (IE, not Pioneer Stable Platters) Hmm .. maybe.
Part of the idea behind the mat is static reduction, I believe, as well as reducing reflection effects - so maybe it would work OK in a stable platter mech?
Or maybe the added thickness would put the kybosh on the CD being read properly?
