Gotta chime in with the choir, best upgrade ever, love the price too, no haggling there. I just hope you wont raise the prices to magical pixiedust inna box levels, considering another set for my secondary system. Still keeps getting better a few weeks in, I might be imagining it but just yesterday, heard slight vibrato in a singers voice i never knew was there before, have listened hundreds of times and never noticed before. Thanks Stan.

Whoa lucky, all that struggle to get it and.... Its still there Might be a positive with non standard equipment, people dont see them as easily sold goods, read another story of a break in, guy had turntables and equipment looking like UFOs made out of brass, still there, burglars just dont know what it is.

Thats good news Martin, worth the tweaks, always seems to improve.
Another bit to upgrade, I like that so much with the SEG, keeps evolving and doesn't cost a mint either.
Dorado PSU is getting better too, the lows sound fantastic a week or so later, oomph and godly definition, base guitar sounds like a proper instrument.

Gotta say, I am loving the effective bit by bit upgrades, ridiculous value for money and keeps my upgrade-itis at bay, keep em coming.
Imagining a scale of change, lets say a pair of good interconnects gets you subtle but noticeable, the Dorado is a major shift of character.
Do let us know when alternate voltages are available, def want to try hooking one up to my router and Digiplayer.

Got my PSU a few days ago, super fast delivery and surprising results, thanks Stan.
Did not expect a big change since I already had a bunch of Tokin caps on the DC feed, well I can happily report I was mistaken. This unassuming box with its 60 Farad worth of caps really does things. Immediately noticed a change in vocals, clear and more realistic, the base tightened up considerably but felt somewhat damped until day 3. Nearly all room mode boom is gone. Day 4 things opened up remarkably, stripping off the veil. So much easier to just close my eyes and experience the music, listen to instruments and sounds as if they were really there. Used to take an effort of imagination.
Excited to see what results your clock adventures bring.

Just to clarify, I have seen nothing but good things from Coherent and Tony, would love to fly him over and refurbish my setup.
Due to lack of funds for such a joyous occasion I have to settle for examination and picking for details, perhaps finding a base concept I might apply, until a windfall of funds appear that is.
Thanks Tony, good enough a hint, didnt know RFI/EMI could be "sinked" into a material, just had in mind regular safety ground and shielding.

Brave pioneering, most appreciated. The SEG rises even higher. Exciting this one, seems reasonably easy to implement. Not too expensive either 116€ pre tax .

Andre kindly offered to send me a unit and swap.
Temporary solution for anyone who encounters this issue, add rubber O ring to standoffs before fastening the Pi to the case with them. Will add the 1-2mm you need, tighten as needed and testfit.
Digione board, snip any protruding excess from voltage converter legs so they dont poke into case metal, add a slice of paper under DigiOne board so it can safely rest with the SMD caps on the casework.
Edit: SQ improvement compared to plastic case, what dunnit, shielding/damping is my guess, worth it.

Well, I succeeded in not being able to assemble mine. Anyone else have troubles? Mid section clearance to CPU was 2.5mm instead of the 1mm covered by the thermal pad, which was too small and rather dry, started crumbling when handled, bad start. Tried to bridge the distance with ceramic pads, 2 was too little 3 was too much, did manage to get thermal paste everywhere tho :-D Attempted to attach the DigiOne board , screwing it down made the PCB bend since the SMD caps on the bottom were riding on the heatsink portion of the section underneath, with or without ceramic thermal pads. Back to original case, good news is, still works thank the gods. Gonna send them a message and ask about this.

Thanks fellas.
I agree, full days labor making from scratch, especially the first time, might shave it down to 5-6h with practice. Measured final diameter, 3mm per conductor
The sound most certainly is a step up in many areas.
First thing i noticed was the bass, big reduction in one-note-itis. The snaps, pops and thumps are very taut and you can hear more separation in that range.
Vocals, really nice, Ariana Grande- Dangerous woman, around 30sec in, she belts out a few lovely notes, really feel it, she rips into into it like never before, presence.
Soundstage, larger and more accurate. Really ups the sensation of being surrounded by the sound, phase and time accuracy? Music is more real, it all comes together, I dont even think of sounds being separated L/R. It was close before but this puts it over the last hump.
I did lose a little "sparkle" and "Air". Hoping some of that fairy dust will come back with a little burn in time, right now its a good trade off.
It is a clear upgrade from my bog standard 4mm OFC thats for sure, will be interesting to see what changes there might be after a few hundred hours.
I do hope others build similar cables, some more backing to my own impressions.
Edit: after 24h of pumping the sound of a babbling brook through it, can hear some of the wanted brightness/air coming back. Blown away by detail in the vocals, in no way sharp just clear, can hear little vibratos, tinges of hoarseness, lovely.

Thanks Colin, got it to work, but slow going, need a much more powerful iron. First one is finished, few more hours to get the second one done, surprising amount of bleepin work it was. 25x0.3mm per conductor, 500m all in all 12 solid hours of work to finish the pair. Especially the tangles, avoided them in the end by stringing leads from a door handle and taping them down. Temporarily soldered a loop on them and twisted with drill until compliant, otherwise the tangles are hellish, also easier to get into tubes, not easy that either. Had to cut the 5m tubes in half and push a wire thru and solder the end and pull through. Finally in the tubes. This is the easy part, separating tube. Here is the finished article. Might terminate with something at a later date, right now just happy its done, not tried it out yet. Still a few finishing touches on the second pair. Time for some Toblerone ice cream cake and a coffe after this, Phew.

Well I am ready to start tonight, I got 0.3mm silkcovered and enameled wires, 25-30 a bunch. Will post pics shortly.
Any tips on stripping and preparing the tips welcome. So far my idea is to try and burn it off with a jet lighter. Or perhaps the super tedious sanding of 240 individual strands, iiik.

UK based joining only?
Def will get one at some point but if there is a reasonable way to join in, all for it, good idea.

Cheers Colin. Furukawa isnt half bad in price, 1.52£ per meter. Although, you have to buy a 100m. Not sure what UB means, So 5 leads for the positive and another 5 for the negative. I like the overkill , 100m would make a spot on 5m pair. Already got some nice design ideas out of this one, much appreciated. I had been imagining getting some of this 0.6mm silverplated solid copper wire 8x8 per channel, pulling a cotton sheath on each strand and shrink wrapping the bundle, then sticking them to a soft rubber hose divider and flexible nylon sheath covering them. 5x5m will go around 60-100£ mostly on the sheaths.
