Genesis played at my school…I can’t say I “discovered” them but this was in the days of From Genesis to Revelation with some material which ended on Trespass.
I saw Roxy Music too but after Virginia Plain was released - Fairfield Hall, Croydon.

Both Multiflex 141 and the RG402 are pretty flexible Rodders. As stated there is a big difference in sound quality between these two cables. Where have you found Multiflex 141 shipping to the UK or in the UK at a sensible price…not a reel?

Instead of bending the cable I have the LB on a wood block behind my R26. I’m using very stiff LMR400 though.

Thinking about this further during my dog walk…
There are a few pensions that guarantee enhanced annuity rates, these should give a good deal.
There are other pensions which feature GMP and other guarantees..possibly these need an annuity to deliver the promises.
If the pensions allow you to buy an annuity on the open market I would guess that moving and merging the pots into a SIPP should be an option. Whether it’s the better option is another matter.
This is info I’ve gleaned on my journey…for sure you need proper advice.

Two of my pensions are non Final Salary and require me to purchase an annuity from the pot. What an absolute minefield. Going through the paperwork and government advice site, I'm definitely going to need some FCA help on these ones. This is where declaring my health issues actually helps my case and will improve my income. If you prefer to move those pots into a drawdown SIPP that should be possible but at least annuity rates have improved so could be viable now.

Good idea to try a straight thru connector, I’ve found a 50 ohm one on Amazon. It looks like there’s enough room for this to work.
H&S cable is certainly something to try too.

I don’t want to intrude too much on your thread Martin but I think this is the logical place for my initial view on the Cisco SFP-10G-AOC. I had been using media converters with SC connectors. The PS on the dirty side is a decent smps, on the clean side it’s a Temple Supercharger (Supercap). Having nabbed the used and well-priced penultimate Cisco cable with SFP+ transceivers from eBay I had to source SFP media converters. Plugging it all together my first relief was that the SFP+ transceivers worked in the SFP cages. I was reasonably sure they would given the working setups on this thread..still it was a relief.
With my Lindemann Bridge I stream in 3 ways, 1 Qobuz, 2 from a server on my LAN, 3 locally attached Samsung SSD. I’ve always had a preference for SSD, then my server and finally Qobuz - which has been strangely variable in SQ even when my router isn’t loaded.
Even with non-optimal media converters (ie not Swenson designed) I now have all three data sources sounding the same. Even the directly attached SSD has improved, presumably some noise was leaching into the player as it was internet connected for control purposes.
I only have a few hours on the new set up so it may yet improve. It’s been fun and a worthwhile small investment. I suppose I should try daisy-chaining the SC and LC media converters, even if the SC ones will have to live with the suppled basic smps.
Thanks for helping me spend a small amount of money and have some fun into the bargain 😀

I wonder whether the Cisco fibre & transceivers will show good results with media converters. The media converters won’t be up to Swenson tech but I can’t help wondering. I’ll know soon enough!

Excellent correlation there, Nick. The Cisco is simply the best optical link I've heard. Warning to others wishing to try one: don't buy a clone or compatible - make sure it has the Cisco brand on it. I've learned by trying compatibles of other SFPs that they do NOT sound the same even though they may be network compatible. Just so that I start to understand better 😀. The Cisco cable is an AOC SFP+ which you are plugging into SFP cages. Is this correct?

Martin, which media converter are you plugging the Cisco AOC into? Are they 5V or 9V?

Audio isn’t much better in that you need a good system to be able to hear some of the diction.

Just for balance, and your info, my 4K Max Fire TV Stick is working perfectly normally with my LG telly. There is indeed a good case to be made for relying on a Fire or Kodi stick to do all the processing, these receive updates long after TV software is obsolete and a new stick (should you need it) costs peanuts vs a new TV.

Yesterday I received my first pension completion pack. My state age for retirement is 66, which is Oct 2024. However, all my private pensions retire me at 65 so they start yielding this Oct 2023. They seem to assume that we're all idiots as there are countless reminders that I should pay for financial advice before I make a decision. I've been tracking my pensions for years in Excel and I know exactly what I'm going to do for each one. Scary and sobering moment, though, making retirement seem more of a reality now. I expect you’ve looked at deferring your private pensions for a year. I looked at doing this with my non-drawdown pensions but ultimately they didn’t increase much by deferring for a year so I paid the extra tax whilst working. I turned 65 in July 21 and worked till Dec 23. The few months not paying NI (from July 22) was a wonderful release! If you’re moving pensions you may well “need” (be required) to pay for advice before you are allowed to move them..you’ll be aware I should imagine.

My ps arrived from Pony (Express?) today. All worked out well, Pony even set the output voltage to my preference. Were there any customs or extra charges above the initial purchase price Clive? No extra charges though with shipping and tax/duty the original price almost doubles. Pony paid the customs charges and their declaration to U.K. customs was accurate.

Mine is coming from Pony Electronics I’ll report back after it arrives. They did at least respond to a question I had.

We are in a deep hole environmentally. EVs are just one piece of mitigation. There isn’t enough we can do to fix the environment…we can only slow the rate of deterioration. The real issue is that the planet is overpopulated and we consume too much of everything. We can help with the latter but the former… It’s too hard to come up with a viable solution. It might have been Covid but it wasn’t, it might be Putin and nuclear war but that trashes the planet anyway. I can’t think of a humane and acceptable way to halve (or more) the population of the planet.
