The poison of SMPS ?
Playing CDs from my album playlist and hearing even more music A step up even though I changed nothing ..... Except I did SMPS supplying the router changed to Zero Zone LPS Could that have been spreading noise into the system ?
Also have DXE ISO plus on the router cable so might they be stopping more muck coming in from the interweb ?
It is a real effort to leave my chair and the system, the sound is so good.

The SMPS could definitely have been contributing.
Nice that you hear an uplift.

Remember when the most complicated thing about playing music was getting the LP back into the sleeve?

The damned XLR plugs going into the Isobariks were a big challenge Cables broke off far too quickly Soldering NACA4 back on was difficult to put it mildly

Remember when the most complicated thing about playing music was getting the LP back into the sleeve? I had a ritual for doing that, without allowing the record to slide in and get scratched.

Ah the wonders of false memory , if the most complicated thing was getting the record back in the sleeve then your system was not set up properly . Before that came balancing the suspension , fitting the tone arm making sure the bounce was correct setting the cartridge up then adjusting the bias and vta by ear ensure it was just so . Cleaning the cartridge after every playing side . The list of procedures we all know can grow and grow after that including cleaning each record after playing before we get to putting it back in its acid free paper sleeve. Then even after all that there were still pops and clicks which broke the illusion of being there .
I do admit that Digital can be just as difficult and it can have so many things to work on . But the end result is still better than the best Vinyl system I have heard to date . Added to that the music costs less as well .

In my case, the (highly modified) Technics SL-1210 and my prized Dynavector DV507-II arm were easy peasy to setup and remained consistent, while the Shelter 5000 cartridge was sure footed and potent. So removing and replacing records were the hardest part.

My ritual/s are as follows I have balanced the suspension on decks owned by friends, my own Hydraulic Reference has no suspension to play with only the modifications since 1973 which are elaborated on elsewhere. Record removed from sleeve balanced on left thumb with finger on outer rim my 10 & 1/2 " span helps. Then holding outer rim placed on the 9 hard platter pads, flick plater simultaneously switching on, glance at illuminated strobe, rarely use laser tachometer if speed is incorrect adjust on control box. Earth/ground left hand on earthed "F" type digital leads, in right hand a wide carbon fiber brush used on rotating record. Once a week or if it picks up fluff use Magic Eraser touching stylus to remove dust. I suppose using the Okki Nokki RCM occasionally is part of the ritual similar, for CD's & DVD's but no cleaning as someone said "if you grew up doing it". I had not realised my actions were/are so enjoyably ritualistic. Reading about the ritual followed by those who stream all the switching on and off chasing signals etc. it seems not a lot different.

The Quest for more music - it says
Looking on Qobuz is bringing up all sorts of more music. Discogs also helping and leading me down many other rabbit holes
The streaming input is now performing well and I'm very happy playing new to me albums from artists I like.
Country Joe started yesterday and was very enjoyable. Albums I know as well as new to me all sounding great The system sound on streaming has improved compared to when I last played the CD so there's a bonus or three
Neil Cowley now on and stopping the music and getting out of the chair very difficult. Neil has played with so many people in so many bands.....
