Investigating Whitesnake and pleasantly surprised. Had in my mind they were a parody of Deep Purple / Spinal Tap. That album cover certainly has the posturing right Twas the Coverdale Page album that piqued my interest. Like his voice

I thought early Whitesnake were a bit of a parody of Free and Bad Company. Later on, they became a parody of the entire poodle-haired heavy rock scene.

OK don't laugh but I just bought the Corrs, 'Jupiter Calling' and on my system there's a massive bass boom on most tracks. I know my system tends towards a little bass heavy, but this albums almost unplayable.
** ADDENDUM **
Just did a frequency response test and there's a massive hump at 80 Hz when playing said album. I wonder if that coincides with the fact that the wavelength at that frequency exactly matches my room width ?
No such aberration if I play the same album on the system in the spare room.
I'll let you get back to the topic now... sorry for the hijack.

After being totally pissed off with New Vinyl last time i gave up. So as im increasingly convinced that Digital is tripe & basically too much trouble even though its suppose to be the reverse. I thought id try again with vinyl. First one arrived today, The recent issue of Floyd 'Obscured By Clouds' On removing the cellophane.. The sleeve has been glued together out of shape the type of out of shape you would expect from a Chinese Bootleg.. Why the hell do i bother? honestly.
This hobby is getting to the stage with me that it is gonna be history because my patience is running out pronto

I've just got hold of this lovely double SACD set of War of the Worlds on eBay. All cleaned and ready to play when the music room has warmed up.
