I've started watching Unit 42 on Netflix, another Belgian police drama. The boss is a procedural detective, does things by the book. The computer forensics girl is wayward, used to be a hacker herself and doesn't like rules. Full of gritty dark cityscapes. It's been done before but this looks good based on the first couple of episodes. Is that available dubbed to engrish?

No, it's subtitled as it should be!

I've just re-entered the real world after experiencing the first two episodes of "Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series." I haven't got a clue what's happening. I'm not saying that for comic effect for once, I really don't know what's going on. Only another 16 episodes to go, and almost 5 hours of "extras" too. At least the music is familiar, and still brilliant.

Just finished watching a highly original & entertaining French crime thriller series called Le Passager. It stars the dude from Betty Blue, Jean-Hugues Anglade, for the film buffs amongst you, and Raphaelle Agogue - tres charmante bien sur ... It's based around a series of gruesome 'mythologically inspired' murders. I was gripped from ep1 and it manages to maintain the tension all the way through. You can see it on C4 catch-up.

I'm still very much enjoying Hinterland. It's gripping, well acted and has the kind of stark scenery reminiscent of Scandi drama.

It's been done before but this looks good based on the first couple of episodes. It's developing very nicely with more of her dark background as a hacker coming through and his difficulties in managing a teenage daughter who is starting to have boyfriends. The dead wife makes appearances in some melancholy but beautiful scenes.

I'm finding Killing Eve totally implausible a few episodes in. So much so, it ruins it..
Keeping Faith on the other hand is all too plausible.
Stranger Things first episode new series was just treading water water for me. hope it hots up.
Peaky Blinders series one is okay but there's a spark that's missing, some humour perhaps, something I can't quite put my finger on.
We watch in hope things will get better and more enjoyable.

There have been some outstanding episodes of Black Mirror as I work my way through all the series on Netflix.
S1 E3 The Entire History of You was superb even by its own standards. S2 E1 Be Right Back, S3 E1 Nosedive, S3 E4 San Junipero, S4 E1 USS Callister, S4 E4 Hang the DJ likewise. A special mention, too, for S4 E5 Metalhead. Superb writing and casting.

Since then a few of his films have disturbed me. Would you recommend twin peaks now? There have been some outstanding episodes of Black Mirror as I work my way through all the series on Netflix. The entire history of you always inspires me to check out more Toby Kebbell and his gem of a performance in the little known and underrated film The Veteran is worth a check imo even if just for a few memorable moments provided by Kebbell. USS Callister so cool. I did like "Playtest" quite a bit S3Ep2 Also "15 million merits" S1Ep2

It's a show you'll probably either love or hate. Do give it two or three episodes though. It's built up a huge following of nutters fans that are active, even today.

Having read up a bit on the real Peaky Blinders and the post first world war melt down.. I have some more respect. Opium, Cocaine use was rife in some circles as was violence and PTSD. There was no support or understanding of the latter. Those that could kept away and led their lives. It was something that went on but not near or affecting them. Familiar of today's gang criminality and violence.

Taboo is coming back - Taboo 2 Tom Hardy - excellent link
I'm still chewing through Peaky 'bloody' Blinders. 5th series is coming I see. I'm halfway through series 3 with only 6 days to watch it before it times out. It's on Netflix too I noticed, but I'm not sure it's all 4 series..

Lord Baelish just popped up in Peaky Blinders series 4. Nice timing by his agent keeping him in work after getting his throat slit in GoT Not a bad disguise, but I saw through it. Wonder how he will die in PB..

S1 E1 of Another Life watched. It has some moments of very good acting indeed interspersed with some sloppy storytelling. Why is there always one renegade on every SF vessel instead of the tight knit crew they're supposed to be?
Nevertheless, there is plenty for me so I'll stay hooked for now. Oh, and Katee Sackhoff is very fit indeed for her age, in all senses of the word!

Jessica Parker Kennedy and to a slightly lesser extent Hannah New made it very worthwhile

I've almost finished series two of The Orville, and have just got the good news that it's been renewed for a third season. Marina Sirtis turned up in the episode I watched tonight, and the episode itself was directed by Jonathan Frakes.

Apparently, season 3 is to be broadcast on Hulu as it wouldn't have been ready in time for Fox. It won't debut on Hulu until 2020. I think season 2 has been even better than season 1, Martin.
