Sounds like you can have fun trying different services and comparing them. I guess a few trials will be in order?

Sounds like you can have fun trying different services and comparing them. I guess a few trials will be in order? If I can still stream the free version of Spotify, and Amazon Music, that'll do for starters.

The 6000N should be arriving some time between the middle of next week, and the middle of the second ice-age. He's using Herpes a.k.a. EVRi. as a courier. They're currently "expecting" my parcel. Fingers crossed.

The Audiolab is plumbed in and playing music or at least facilitating the streaming of it. One thing I can report back though is that it "does" bass very well, even on dodgy MP3-quality internet radio fodder. Amazon music (the free one) plays happily, and the free version of Spotify allows me to select the 6000N as a "device" and stream to it with no problem at all.
I'm having major (and weird) troubles with the app though, especially the Windows version. It took a Hell of a lot of jiggery-pokery, like switching off the 5Ghz side of my hub, although it was not recommended anywhere on the setup instructions, which are, to be honest, shite. They give the impression that it starts working the second it's connected, with minimal intervention. After a couple of hours, I'm here to tell you that is not so, or not for me at least. The app displays the album cover of whatever is playing, with the title (I'm currently on Spotify listening to Tennstedt's Mahler 8) and performers etc. scrolling along the bottom of the window. What the app is not doing, for some reason, is allowing me to control the volume, despite the bloody great volume slider on the app.
No version of the app currently recognises my Synology NAS drives.
Those will be problems for tomorrow though, as Liverpool is on the telly playing West Ham tonight.
Idiosyncrasies apart, it sounds good, and I'm happy so far.

I've decided I will keep my Volumio setup for playing music from my NAS drives. It's so much more user-friendly, and it sounds good too. The Audiolab will serve as my interface for internet radio, Spotify Free, and Amazon Music Prime for now. The play-Fi app works perfectly on my phone, and on my iPad. I haven't tried it on my Amazon Fire or any other Android devices yet. It still feels flaky on the PC (I've actually deleted it in fact), despite the encouragement to purchase the all-singing all-dancing version. Not happening, and not a problem if I can control the 6000N from any other tablet in the house. If I do, eventually, switch to streaming, or at least incorporate it, Amazon, with its (up to) 24-bit, 192 kHz Ultra Hi-Def is currently leading the field. I think that anything over and above that would be a waste on my second system. It's good, but not THAT good, and neither are my ancient ears.

Not just internet radio but my favourite radio programme over the internet / app / Sonos is Vaken P4 Sveriges Radio. Only Tobias might get that on TAS though. It's a great mix of talk, music, quiz and general topics of interest.
