I just remembered that Oscar Peterson: We Get Requests would have to go in mine, too. And Diana Krall: The Girl in the Other Room.
Oh, and some Holly Cole, too!

Dave Brubeck: Time Out as number 1. And only.
Because it's the only jazz album I know. Some good listening to be done.

Strangely I adore and seek out newer forms of jazz and music that incorporates heavily forms of jazz but I cannot get along at all with traditional jazz.
Chad Wackerman, Jazz Pistols, Calibro 35, Kneebody, Christiano Parato, Zu, Mombu, Black Engine, Medeski-Martin-Wood, Victor Wooten, and more. These are some of my favorite artists ever but as far the classics I can't seem to even find my way around in something as highly acclaimed and respected as 'Bitches Brew', yet Tony Allen's album 'The Source', which doesn't sound SO disimilar to BB is something I truly love.

Apparently the top 10 bestselling Jazz albums are: - Miles Davis - Kind of Blue (1959)
- Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters (1973)
- Weather Report - Heavy Weather (1977)
- Herbie Hancock - Future Shock (1983) (Kind of a stretch as "jazz." including it for the sake of it being a Hancock album.)
- The Dave Brubeck Quartet - Time Out (1959)
- Various Artists - Ken Burns Jazz: The Story of America's Music (2000) [Compilation]
- Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful World (1988) [Compilation]
- Miles Davis - Bitches Brew (1970)
- Louis Armstrong - Hello, Dolly! (1964)
- Stan Getz & João Gilberto featuring Antônio Carlos Jobim - Getz / Gilberto (1964)
Best-selling Jazz Albums of All Time (RIAA) Compiled with the caveat "Note 2: You may notice the absence of cheese jazz like Diana Krall and Kenny G. Oh well, let's just focus on the real stuff and call it a day. Basically, not including smooth/cool jazz here." But did you know that saxophonist Kenny G (USA) is the world’s best-selling jazz musician, with 15 gold, 11 platinum and 8 multi-platinum albums to his name, as well as total sales of over 75 million as of February 2011? Kenny G didn't make it into the "100 Jazz Albums that shook the World" so I think that list is based upon a combination of the Jazzwise reviewers' preferences, sales figures, artistic merits as judged by 2022 standards.

I wonder why this album is not included in the "100 Jazz Albums...": Herbie Hancock - River: The Joni Letters In 2008 it won "Grammy Awards for Album of the Year" and "Best Contemporary Jazz Album" at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards.
I would have included Oscar Peterson - We Get Requests as well. Oscar Peterson was included in the 2006 Top 100 (album: Night Train) but has vanished from the 2022 list.
Another one of my favourites is Abdullah Ibrahim but he has disappeared from the list, despite having made some great CDs recently.
I rate the Marcin Wasilewski Trio very highly and they featured on the album "Soul of Things" - Tomasz Stańko Quartet. It was there in 2006 but now disappeared. Oh well, I thought the Marcin Wasilewski Trio deserved some merit.

If you watch Oscar Peterson playing, the man was a giant. What kind of top 100 list doesn't include him?
Secondly, why call Diana Krall 'cheese jazz'? What, is she too successful for a jazz performer? Agreed, some of her music is syrupy but other albums are good. I've seen her perform twice and she is a seriously good piano player.

Jazz is all about "cool," though, isn't it? Everyone knows you can't be cool if you're incredibly popular, a girl, and married to Elvis Costello. Diana Krall is good enough to abandon that horrible melodic stuff she does, and play 30 minute pieces based around the Mixolydian scale, with 14 different time signature changes and no discernable melody. THEN she'd be cool.

I agree with you on Diana Krall, she is a great jazz artist and was in the top 100 in 2006: 83 Diana Krall - Love Scenes (Impulse! 1997)
On the Jazzwise website: "Where would female jazz vocals be today without Diana Krall? An imponderable, perhaps, especially when so many undistinguished vocalists currently populate the landscape. However, Krall is the genuine article on every level, whether you’re talking about texture, taste, integrity, inventiveness or musicianship. Whatever setting she’s chosen for herself in the past decade, it’s been apposite. Love Scenes was a trio album and presaged her massive with-orchestra crossover, but it contains all the essential Krall ingredients and is a thorough convincing artistic manifesto. No wonder people listened."
However, Diana Krall has no listing in the 2022 "THE 100 JAZZ ALBUMS THAT SHOOK THE WORLD". Oh dear. This is a massive snub!
