Can never really understand why the band in some quarters have a bad name you look at that early line up and they had some great musicians playing

Carlos has a few not so good to his name, some stellar items as well.
This after one listen is heading to 8 / 10, possibly 9 on the Mikeometer
I know the band changes massively in some albums. Still great, just different.
Viva is listed as a compilation, well sort of, but most of it seems unique to me - again this is the 2 CD version the 1 CD version could be very different
People have a go at Caravan and others when they have big line up changes - don't care, still fabulous

I like many of their albums, such as Marathon. However, for me Abraxas has a special place in the pantheon of all-time great albums.

Abraxas is special for sure Have a listen to Viva, a few tracks you already know, but some very nice stuff that, so far as I know is unique

This thread is a bit mistitled isn't it?
If you are a Santana fan, you're surely going to buy Santana albums. If you're a Britney Spears fan, however, you wouldn't normally buy The Greatest Hits of Scraping Foetus of the Wheel.

I really like Santana, my overall favourite album probably being Supernatural.
