HI, just got a new TV..LG b9, I thought I would hook it up to the SEG, so I set the LG sound to optical PCM out but nothing, now it could be the optical lead, though the ends do light up red..maybe doesn't mean lead is ok? ,anyway I have a new optical cable ordered...just incase. Is there anything else I am doing wrong? Thanks ,CJ

Hopefully, there should be a menu option similar to...
Home > Settings > Advanced -- (then choose) Sound > Sound Out
Find that and make sure Sound Out is set to Optical for starters.

The best I can do for you is to offer a video of an annoying American woman explaining the optical out settings. The settings themselves are referenced from 01:15
If that's no help then you need someone who actually knows what they're doing to join this thread.

Was on LG web site and tried all that was on it...as I said ,could be cable. I will ask the question on a forum for TV's, probably be a better idea. Thanks

Are you absolutely sure the TV is set to output stereo PCM and not Dolby or DTS surround? The SEG will barf with those.

They suggest that if it's fed with Dolby or DTS in then it will output in those formats. The SEG can't decode them. Can you feed the TV some stereo to test the theory?

Martin,by the way what signature mode would you recommend for this setup? It's better to listen and choose yourself. I always preferred firmware reclocking until I installed a Tentlabs superclock in the SEG, then I preferred advanced Xtal processing.

Nice looking TV, by the way, and it's "got" Alexa too.

It is. it was recommended as the best for the price....tbh I wasn't even thinking of a new screen, was busy telling my son I saved £10 on a 4k fire stick to help Kodi run a bit smoother,he said, sure you don't have 4k....so much for saving £10..lol

Yes Martin I use Xtal..one flash,...Thought different connections used different modes, but I like Xtal. Thanks
