I’m sure we all have some music that we love, but others might call ‘cheesy’. I’ll get the ball rolling with this rock anthem from Autograph that never fails to put a smile on my face. Party on, Wayne.

Blessed are the cheese... Oh, no, that was the cheeseMAKERS, wasn't it?
I've been introducing people in a Farcebook group to the joys of Slade not being awfully Sladey, and The Sweet being a bit heavier than they were generally given credit for. Do those count?

No, sorry Paul, they do not qualify - not enough cheese and actually a bit too good! Never thought I would say that about Slade ...

I posted Rock On by David Essex the other day. It's a great song, but cheesy?

The Sweet could get quite heavy and Slade was a pretty good live band

Ok I’ll play.
I quite like this even though it is both cheesy and crap!

Slade were superb - I can't understand why they got their bad rep. - perhaps they were too obviously enjoying themselves.

Agreed. At the time, they had the biggest run of no.1 singles since The Beatles, so they were doing something right. They were also superb live. Bloody loud too!

How about The Carpenters? Generally speaking, I'm not a fan of their saccharin-infused pop, but I did buy their "Greatest Hits." In my defence, I bought it mainly for Tony Peluso's guitar playing on Goodbye To Love and Mr Postman.

Karen Carpenter had an amazing voice. So sad the way she ended up.

Yes, she had one of those rare truly pure voices, a superb instrument. Her story of denial until it was too late is heartbreaking.

Ok these are truly awful and I don't like them but the thread did ask for putting a smile on your face...
Now,to get this in context this was on a pipeline job in Norway and went out across a system someone had rigged to the speakers across the plant. Someone had a phone rigged up with a playlist and you simply went and added to the playlist as you pleased.
Problem was a few guys liked, imo, rather distasteful and antagonising Irish rebel music. (Feckin weegies) : Now A LOT of guys would get annoyed at that but personally I'd prefer to go and add Vengaboys,Steps,Aqua etc etc to the playlist. Used to drive them nuts.
A couple of the Norwegians asked "Do you like that shit?" And I'd have to explain the joke to them which,to them, was just the funniest thing ever!!
