Also plenty of scope for improving as well, its a good starting grounding for a respectable front end.
One interesting comparison we made while looking into a problem we were having, we also measured another piece of equipment via SPDIF its jitter was 65% less on the overall TIE reading with a cycle to cycle difference of 152fs not bad for a 44.1Khz signal with zero up-sampling.
I digress definitely a solid start for those looking to good step up from the Pi and the usual sub £700 products, well thought out and implemented

I find that better resolution really helps to separate out an orchestra on big symphonies like those from Shostakovich, and also voices in massed choirs as needed in many of the requiems.

Yes, it's as though lesser players are exhibiting IMD.
How anyone can believe thst all transports sound the same....demonstrates a lack of hearing or experience.

Which PSU are you using with it Clive? Hi Jules, currently the stock medical grade smps. I did however swap my Metrum dac in place of the Qutest... this allowed me to use the supercap ps on the Limetree...It was better with the supercap, if you follow what I'm saying. I'm now getting a 2nd supercap so I can run them on both Qutest and Limetree.

Hi John & Clive,
I asked at Amazon & also lindemann a couple of days ago but no response so far.
Does the app control volume like the Bluesound Node2 does via its coax and optical?
I'd love to try this with Tidal & Qobuz (my main sources for music) if it does and just use the node2 for TV/Bluray as my outboard DAC has no VC.

I did not control volume via the app. I used my DAC to control the volume. Lindemann can be quite slow in getting back to you Can you explain how is your Limetree connected

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't have one yet, considering purchasing one after a google search led me here.
The comments that with the Limetree bridge some members noticed they are listening more to classical got my attention. It tells me that maybe this bridge is unraveling complex music well.
I'm currently using the bluesound node 2 in the living room for TV & music running into a mojo mystique v3 via coax.. out to an itube2 set at unity gain as a tube buffer. I'm extremely satisfied with TV/Movie discs but can't shake the feeling that Tidal and Qobuz can be improved by something else. The node2 app is what I use to switch sources and control volume.

It resamples really well and if streaming with Quobuz or Tidal works well soundwise but the app a bit chunky to use. I am not familiar with your set up. Is there any other way of controlling the volume as not possible to do via the app.

I see, yes, adding my attenuator which will add an extra set of interconnects, or configuring the buffer to control volume. Both options might impose an SQ hit thereby making this a sideways move.
I guess I'll try to purchase it with a 30 day audition option to see if it nets an overall improvement. Thanks!

If you have a volume control on the buffer this should work fine Adding a preamp would be a good way to go but yes an extra set of interconnects to add to the cost I think essential to buy on 30-days return. To see if you like

Hello
I am about to submit my order for this Limetree Bridge, but want to ask a few questions before I do.
1. Did Lindermann update the app for Limetree? I've heard the Qobuz interface is somewhat lame and the Spotify was not fully integrated from the previous comments. 2. Is there any other new network bridge since Limetree that can compete with in terms of sound quality?
Thank you! and of course Merry Christmas!

I think Clive would be the better person to answer questions about the updates to the app I found the interface with Qobuz not great but to be honest I have not found a perfect app no matter what I tried. Basically, you have to go into a search for what you want before playing. It would be better if they allowed you to create a playlist. At the price, the Limetree is a great sounding unit. The only way I can think of beating it for less is the Asus Tinkerboard with the Oehibach USB reclocker and some decent USB cables with a few USB jitter devices like the IFI USB silencer to the USB inputs. Volumio is a nicer interface but my only issue is that very occasionally I get the odd drop out in sound. But this is rare. It is a good bit better than the DigiOne Signature and SOtM 200 Ultra in terms of sound quality
You can only use Spotify via Bluetooth but due to the resampling of the Limetree sounds pretty good

I'm currently using a BRIDGE and Lindemann Musicbook SOURCE. The good news is that they use the same app so any developments will be shared across the range.
Yes the search is basic but it works. Native Spotify is coming but has to be reworked due to Spoti changing their specs. BT Spoti works well in the meantime.

It's a great sounding unit but had issues with bt and using Bluetooth that was more to do with BT so had to move it on.

I still have my BRIDGE though I'm currently trialling the much more expensive SOURCE streamer/dac/preamp. Depending on my progress I might be selling the BRIDGE.
