Definitely, and by a mile, the best thing Rick Springfield ever released.

Cheating a little bit here but I've only just come across this video , David Gilmour wasn't part of Floyd when it was first released.

Definitely, and by a mile, the best thing Rick Springfield ever released. Zoot was an Australian band whose guitarist was Rick Springfield. Later on, he went to the US. They did another Beatles cover too...

One of the greatest contemporary folk-songs. Written by Elvis Costello, covered by Robert Wyatt, and I think it's one of the best things that either of them has ever done.
Suede do a decent job of covering the cover version too...
Laibach - Sympathy For The Devil. This song's been covered to death, but this is probably my favourite cover of my favourite Stones song just because it's nothing like the original. I do rather like Motorhead's version too though.

That reminds me: Tasmin Archer has covered Shipbuilding too, and it's rather good.

This live performance of Autechre's 'Bike' by a jazz ensemble is absolutely outstanding - I actually think I prefer it to the original.
Here's the original (also excellent):
