Ep1 was Stewart Copeland on Drums, Ep2 Tina Weymouth on Bass, and Ep3, this coming Friday, is Lenny Kravitz on Guitar. Credit to the BBC for not parading the "usual suspects" either, as presenters or as players. Yes, there are household names, how could there not be? They are featured for their contributions to the evolution or the illumination of the instrument in question, though, rather than just for being famous. Now, for probably the first time in my life, I'm looking forward to seeing Lenny Kravitz. Episodes 1 & 2 are both on iPlayer and I really can't recommend them highly enough.

I saw last week's drum episode and have been away all weekend, so just watching the bass one now. Highly recommended.

The drum episode is excellent, there is much more to Copeland than I thought.

The observations about the effect of the invention of the drum pedal were a revelation to me. Like all the best ideas, bloody obvious when you stop for a minute to think about it.

Have now seen the bass episode, equally enjoyable. Tina Weymouth was a good choice for this.

I've got tonight's set to record. I'm very interested to see how Lenny Kravitz comes across. I've never been a fan, but I know he can play a bit.
