I been trying to get LMS working on the Neo The manual is not very good at explaining how to do it and the YouTube video is not making sense I like to compare against Room which is a very easy setup but quite expensive

Is this the sotm neo? I'm currently thinking about getting one of these. This doesn't answer your question, but from what I understand, it will operate as a DLNA renderer? In which case, another option would be to have something like JRiver running on a machine elsewhere (I have it running on a dedicated headless Pi these days), which will then register the neo as playback zone, you could then manage all playback functions with your tablet/phone.

I been trying to get LMS working on the Neo The manual is not very good at explaining how to do it and the YouTube video is not making sense I like to compare against Room which is a very easy setup but quite expensive Go to the SoTm setup page via your website browser. I just use the SoTm IP address Once in that page you need to Activate the Squeezelite option by selecting the little play icon . It will take 20/30 secs to become active. Then if you want to setup LMS go to that via the SoTm IP address again but add :9000 to it and that will take you to the LMS page. OR you can select the settings ( little cog ) on the LMS icon on the SoTm page does the same thing. Bottom right of LMS page that now comes up is the LMS settings button. You need to go into that and then select what add one your require such as Spotify (Spotty ), Tidal, Qobuz, Bandcamp etc.

JRiver, overpriced, overrated, bloated OS eating under performing, massively over hyped average playback software, did I mention it wasn't that good?

Cheers Mikey it the last bit I am getting stuck on adding my music folder I do not get how to add the music folder
Pinch The SOtM is very nice but I would of gone for the DigiOne sig using batteries as according to John Darko as good as the Aries but worth waiting until they build a case. I spent far to much on the Caiman which it would not hold a lock with and would struggle to get back that investment

I knew you were going to say about the drive folder it took me forever to get mine listed in the correct way and even then it still don't know how I managed it. I think a lot had to do with the correct naming of the drive when you try and add it to the right section in LMS, I had issues because my music is on a folder within the main nas drive itself. I nearly gave up when it suddenly appeared.

I'm planning to move the PC out of the main system, since the next level of upgrades are so expensive I might as well just buy a dedicate purpose-built unit. The DigiOne is another option I've been considering. It's much less expensive than the ultra neo, which is certainly a point in its favour. One thing which puts me off the digione is the absence of USB output. I know USB has its limitations, but I have a fairly nice USB interface that I'd still like to keep in the chain. Did you get the sotm power supply along with the ultra neo?

If you hold for awhile I am pretty sure Allo will bring out a USB bridge signature. The USB bridge is a bit better than the DigiOne but not by much. I got a PSU specially made from Tony at Coherent not cheap but very good I did initially have the Neo running of a 12v battery as got the 12v version and that was a lot better than the stock SMPS. Not worth bothering with a Chinese PSU as battery was better when I tried this. No idea where a battery sits with something like a SB Booster in terms of performance. The Neo very nice

Apologies Mike next time I promise no procrastination and will get straight to the point Good to hear that Tony. Perhaps you could clarify your thoughts on Naim as I have never been able to work out what you think of them....... Morning Mike Naim is like a sour chew, inviting to start with, but as soon as you put in your mouth it like sucking lemons, the sound of naim is like sucking three month old lemons through a straw made out of chewy bees wax. Or Quoting an early David Biddel from the Mary Whitehouse Experience 'Cuz it's crap' Naim products are average, seriously overpriced and pretty grim looking the ethos around them is cemented in 80's excess and over 50 year old mentality that feels its world class. You just know when these guys are having a rare sexual encounter their moment of 'orgasmic Ecstasy' is finished off with a green naim badge. A prime example of how naim has diminished over the years is the tractor engine (naim statement) and the Grand Utopia III combination, like marrying a Ferrari concept to Chieftain tank engine (only Chieftain engines where more reliable!). Although I am sure it would double up as a sonic weapon prototype. I should more pro British, but the whole saga of 'You nobody with a naim' is just so crass, I mean it's like footballers wives. Look at my £200K bling'd Chelsea tractor (chrome spinners included) outside my 4 pillared entrance feux mansion with three Bentley's, two designer pits bull's, 2 handbag dogs (barf) plus a sponsor ship deal from Gregg's. Humm. I have missed so much in life. We have a number of these 'sportsman' not to far from where we abode, the other day while returning from the usual mundane weekly chores I spotted a rather blonde lady tottering in 6 inches heels in designer jeans (ripped), £4K sunglasses getting out of a rather garish looking Bentley with a t shirt that proudly stated 'I heart Camp Road' and proceeded to screech down her jewel encrusted phone 'Hi babes' in an accent that would have made the TOWIE regulars wince. 'You are certainly somebody with music, if you don't have a naim' the slogan should read. Hopefully not too much procrastination today chaps

I heard this setup twice. Having had JM Lab Mezzo Utopias myself, I know the Focal sound well and it needs sympathetic amplification to give of its best. The combination of Naim and Focal is a total disaster (rather like Chord and Wilson Benesch). Just nasty and makes you wonder at the serious 6-figure cost making the awful screechy mess you're listening to while the sales rep bops his head gently. To what? Not music, that's for sure. Maybe it's the $$$ signs he's dreaming about.

Martin You need to hear the new MK III Grande's now £160K, guess what they have made them more sympathetic to the naim sound The Grande's with the right equipment can sound wonderful without question (I had a pair of the MKII for a few years) just not naim!

I found an easy way to add music folders to your SoTm device. Open up your SoTm setup page and go to the Configure System Settings option and select the Folder icon on that menu ( Photo 1 ) Once you close that you will then see the menu as seen in Photo 2. Simply enter your drive details in the Network Library Config menu, you can see I've added my Nas drive, mine requires ID and password too but I've edited them out in the photo 😉 Save and Use is you next click and that's it, the drive will now show up in LMS as Music Folder. I've no idea what difference SMB 1, 2, 3 means it just auto selected that for me. Hope this helps. Oh and by the way DO NOT UPGRADE to 4.5 firmware as I had major glitching on using Squeezelite so I had to revert back to 4.22. Your Neo might be ok with 4.5 but if not you'll need to revert to an older version and redo your setup all over again.
