Yes, the big three (with different chassis and different engines) each have their areas of strength now.
Even if Hamilton concentrates on points rather than winning, he should secure the championship this year. However, I doubt he'll settle for that.

Can only say MY GOSH !! I'm on hols in Miami and followed on BBC Sport live - What a race, Hamilton is legend, a true fighter Says he was on the limit the whole time. And what a call from Merc Petronas ! Just genius, The win has made my day. Another in the eye for the haters. The rubbish ive read lately, Verstappen is better blah blah blah from those who never give this man any credit. Well LH44 always responds in the best way possible. Im heading out in the midday sun withthe Mrs and my daughters with a big fat cheeey UK grin on my face. Get in there LH44 / Mercedes Petronas.

What a fantastic race! Hamilton versus Verstappen is the real deal. Credit to both of them for making it so exciting. That's a brilliant mid-season break for Lewis and Mercedes.
Red Bull and Honda really have put together a challenger in that car. Ferrari are going slightly backwards, although Spa and Monza should suit them.

That was an impressive race. Lewis showed again how good he is and Mercedes pulled out of the bag a superb strategy. All this following a lacklustre performance by them both over the previous weekend.
The amount of Facebook pages that were saying that Lewis is done and Max is the best driver in F1 right now after Germany was incredible!
Lewis is clearly the top dog at the moment, but Max is definitely biting at his heels, and if he keeps up this level of consistency I can see him challenging more and more.

I feel sorry for Carlos Sainz. He is equal to or even better than Verstappen in my opinion, but was sidelined by Red Bull because Max didn't want him in the main team. So they picked Gasly, who is obviously nowhere as good as Sainz. But unless Sainz gets a ride in a Merc or Ferrari he won't be able to show his true potential. The McLaren is in a lower league. Alonso forced them to abandon Honda. A long list of bad calls by Alonso.

I feel for Sainz, too. However, the McLaren is improving at a rate of knots, already the best of the rest. It's possible that Sainz' best move is to stay and keep developing the car. A shame that they gave up the Honda engine, though.

Nice one Lewis, get in there!
Hoping / looking forward to him/Merc beating Schucheaters 'record'. He's already equalled it, fair and square as far as I'm concerned. As Brundle once said "if Schumacher had won a couple of championships less and in better circumstances, he'd be much more respected"..
That however is going to be a huge challenge as competition is hotting up nicely..

Given Schumacher's condition I find it hard to maintain deeply held criticisms of him. He wasn't perfect, there's a line between ultra competition and unfair which he crossed a few times. Maybe some of us would take such decisions.
All I feel now is sympathy for his predicament.

Okay motorsport is not life and death but his actions were dishonorable at best. He could well be down one or two championships with today's rules, and that would be just..

Indeed, reversing into Damon Hill alone should have lost him that year's championship. Water under the bridge, though.

It looks like Ferrari could run away with it today, if their reliability holds. Yesterday's Gionivazzi engine blow puts a shadow on that.
The Mercedes are looking better on race pace, but working against them are two engine blows over the weekend.
Red Bull are comparatively weak here, as Spa is a power circuit.
Raikkonen and Ricciardo are looking strong, too.

Spa is a great circuit! I've done Caterham trackdays there in my 7. It claimed my friends car in the morning wet, aquaplaning up the start staight hill! I had a big tank slapper there too but held it. Rivers run across! That was after following a pace car for 5 get used to it laps, too!
Backing it into La Source hairpin in the dry was amazing. Eau Rouge demands total respect. One or two didn't make it through.

I think all the drivers will be on edge today follow the fatal accident in yesterday’s F2 race, and the serious incident in the F3 race this morning.
Whether they’ll be as willing to take the usual risks is to be seen.

Great race, and well deserved win by Leclerc but it was close at the end. I love Hamilton when he does one of those 'Hammer Time' chases at the end.
The Ferrari engine is storming, isn't it? The way Vettel blew past Hamilton in the first lap without DRS is ominous.
Racing drivers race. They are professionals and I don't think yesterday's fatality registered with them while 'the helmets are on', to quote Bottas.

That was a great race. I agree that the drivers just got on with the job.
I was quite excited when I saw how much time Leclerc was losing to Lewis and thought he had him, but in reality, I think the right man won the race. He has been quick all weekend and absolutely destroyed his more experienced 4 time champion team mate. Reminds me of a certain Lewis Hamilton in 2007!

What a complete and utter clusterf*** qualy 3 was. Leclerc and Hamilton P1 and P2 seem deserved on merit.
I wouldn't be surprised if they're all sent to the back!
