The TAD has landed. Now officially mine.
Superb sound which improves the more it is played.
Currently tinkering with Bajafondo Tango Club via YouTube and Pi. Must grab the CD and compare....
CDs are played in rotation until 'enough' - sound better each time.
One remote for Pre Amp, CD and DAC is good.
TV connected via Toslink gives some incredible noises I'm sure were not meant to be heard. EG. Cars rumbling away in the background. Dogs barking well off in the distance.
As a CD player it is a very good CD player, but CD player, DAC, Pre Amp it is a bit of a bargain. Output via RCA or XLR. No surprise XLR sounds better
If I had stayed with Naim I suspect this would be 3 boxes plus 3 boxes for power supplies - for a large amount of dough and nowhere near the sound quality.

Appreciating the detail of the TAD more as I get used to it No conventional turning volume control knob. Perhaps as it is digital. Slight disadvantage I am learning to live with and may get over. On the plus side the control is minute and accurate when I want to adjust by small amounts. I like that a lot. Having one remote for CD, Pre and DAC is very nice too. Even the remote is black Still have some features to try like my one SACD So much to listen to that will come soon enough

Takes some believing, have to keep reminding myself.
This TAD system is a 2 box system
Box 1 D1000 CD/DAC/Pre Box 2 Power Amp
I lie. The essential RTZ grounding box makes it 3 Input for tape and vinyl to be sorted
Some serious design, R&D, testing, improving and money went into this stealth like box
