...or use a larger one and wind the cable around it to make one turn, which increases the inductance. Ah..never thought of that Martin , I'll keep that in mind .

Had more chokes arrive yesterday. Put them on all the SMPS I could find.
Astounded by a couple of tracks, and the detail changes. The presentation seemed tighter (there must be an audiophile way of saying this - sorry). More base, better instrument separation. These things were more evident on some tracks. Elvis Costello, Jesca Hoop, Cowboy Junkies, Joe Jackson. Less so on Eagles, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac.
The most surprising was Deep Forest. Just 30 seconds of the first track. Wow. What a difference.

I gone a step forward with modem and hub I am now using a Chinese linear power supply. This has seen the noise floor reduced allowing more detail to come through

Agreed, John, putting my 4G router onto the linear PSU made a surprising difference.

Agreed, John, putting my 4G router onto the linear PSU made a surprising difference. Hang on, hang on. Say that again? Are you saying if I put my house router onto a PSU, it will improve my sound? Or do you have a router for your system...

The 4G router is just for my system, with a dedicated MeiCord ethernet cable and LAN isolator to the Pi. Yes, running the router on a 12V linear PSU compared with the supplied SMPS makes a difference.

It probably work as noise is going into your mains

I put one on my router about 6 metres away. Assumed it would be necessary.
To be accurate I put in a 4 way extension with a choke on the plug. Wall warts for Router and phone plugged into 4 way

Are RCA shorting plugs of any benefit?
