Re-read some of the older threads covering BRs, must say, intrigued, especially the Caiman lift story from the meet. Well, its going on the list, so 3 for the SEG , 2 for Pi and I suppose 4 for the amp. How come no one puts vibration absorption in the middle of the chassis, or perhaps you do, I imagine it would be the part that can most freely keep alive resonances, essentially flapping in the wind, maybe there is something I am missing?

It depends on the weight distribution, to a degree. For instance, my SACD player is very heavy on the left side, so I have two spread BRs on the left and two very close to each other on the right.

Broadly : The latest BRs are the best.
RDC4s next, the 2 piece RDC with Sorbothane (!) between Stillpoints old style RDCs with bases RDCs on their own old BRs Wooden cones - nice and cheap and great VFM Sorbothane bottom if I remember right

Well I'm going to try some DIY isolators and have purchased some Balsa Wood dowel and hollow carbon fibre rod to experiment with. I think a combination of the two could be very interesting! I know from past experience these work well, so rather than copying them I'm going to try 19mm diameter Balsa dowel with 16mm diameter hollow carbon fibre rod glued to the end - Dissapating Feet

I used to use the same feet and they did a good job but worth paying the extra for the pads

Those rubber feet on the SEG and the Capella are not of the best types on the market. But there are so few to choose from on a production scale. And small specialist manufactured types are expensive.

What are the Electric Beach Rockin' Rollers like compared to the Black Ravioli? I see they were very popular here at one stage.
Is it the £27 BR Pads you fellas are using?

Better than Mk1 BRs
The Rockn Rollers were not so good on certain kit. Sorry can't remember which. CD players maybe.

I have the full BR blocks under most kit but have the less expensive Pads coming for the SEG and Pi. The Rockin' Rollers were good under everything I tried except the SACD player, as I recall, where the BRs were staggeringly good.

I was shocked how good the BR blocks were under my Transport when Martin brought his round. They are a must in my system at some point.
Very interested to hear how they compare to the cheaper pads though, and whether the pads would better the older BR I currently use.

Have a few old BRs I must try stacked up, 2 or 3 high to compare to the new Mk 3 jobbies

The BR Pads are working nicely under the Pi and SEG, with the sorbothane transferred to under the DC-DC converter and supercap PSU.

Having the SINK under the SEG with the pads adds a bit more authority

I know what you mean about authority, John. There is a new sense of structural foundation to the music. Trying The Expert by Yello, the impact is incredible.
On a different note, I love the quality of their guest vocalists, especially Fifi Rong, Malia and Heidi Happy. All sound even more wonderful tonight.

Made up my isolation feet this morning and have fitted x3 to the SEG, Allo Digione Player and the Longdog LPSU. First impressions are very good, infact I'm amazed at the difference they have made.
