this schematic is single ended; what I find interesting is the tube compliment could be rather inexpensive (with common tubes) compared to other push/pull OTLs...that is why this single tube OTL jogged the inverted OTL in my brain. In this mode, the signal is applied to a NEGATIVELY BIASED PLATE, (acting as the grid), and the "amplified" signal is taken from the positively biased grid (acting as the plate)"

Weird - a bit like common base in transistor circuits that I always found a bit difficult to follow.
