After seeing the Heybrooks the other day and thinking how nice they looked, and what a shame it was that I knew bugger-all about them it set me to thinking. Is there an amp you'd like to hear purely because you find it aesthetically pleasing? I've never been a hi-fi buff and haven't listened to every amp that was ever created since 1960 so my list is probably a lot different to a lot of yours, but is there something you've seen pictures of, or seen in a dealer's window that just *appealed* to something inside you for no other reason than it looked pretty? I'll kick it off with an "Inca Design Talon" (sorry Colin, I know it's not actually one of yours) and a Roksan Kandy KA-1 Mk III

I had an inca design katana cd player tyat was bought purely for the looks and it was really nice. Built like a brick outhouse, just the drawer that was a plasticky thing. I thought and still do that the musical fidelity x series was pretty, had a full x system consisting of x-ray, x-a1, x-cans, x-lps and x-plora. I try to build things pretty too otherwise the missus says no.....

Sugden A21a. So simple, yet pleasing on the eye.
NVA AP10H. Same as written the above.

Audio Note amps with the valves showing. Ongaku,Gaku on etc
Horn speakers with a rectangular base and the large round horn on top - I love the look of them. Various makes.
I'll update as more come to me!

Arion Elektra: I had one of these about 15 years ago. I still remember how nice it was to look at. Not the best sounding amp, sadly.

I just use these. You don't even have to register or log in. You do have to physically "select all" and then "copy" though, once you've uploaded the image. imgbb.com/upload

Hi Chris if you click "reply" rather than using "quick reply" there is an option to allow BB codes at the bottom of the speech box. Hers a pic:

The bottom pics show a handmade Japanese 300B amp which,to me,is gorgeous. The WE valves and the point to point wiring along with the underplayed case are a great combo. The underplayed case separates those who are in it for the listen.
