I had one Tim it was good but did not keep it I really like the DIGI ONE with a few tweaks amazing sound quality for the money The 200 Ultra is supposed to be very good Are you using that with Volumio to play FLAC files from a server as well as Spotify? I favour a NAA (Network Audio Adapter) using JRiver on my main computer and an DNLA end point, hence the SOtM. I also envisage using Roon at somepoint, so the SOtM seems to fit the bill perfectly. Can't afford the 200Ultra, well actually I can, but wouldn't spend that much at the moment.

Roon was picking up on the Digi One and was able to access files this way. Just using Spotify these days. Perhaps Martin knows more. These days I am back to discovering new music and not so focused on tweaking The SOtM will do what you want but remember to add a decent power supply as not good with its own power supply

Spotify is just a fill in for me, for discovery or albums I don't quite want to buy but would like to hear occasionally. Also for some stuff that's OOP or hard to source. Still use it daily though and especially on my mobile. I need a fairly powerful main system to handle my large FLAC library for indexing and artwork, which a Pi isn't up to as a main player. An Intel NUC based Roon ROCK or JRiver/SOtM is what I'm going for, a SOtM is favourite as it's simple and fits my minimalist approach. I've not tinkered for ages, I don't enjoy it to be honest, gets in the way of enjoying music. But I'm nearing my final home move and have a new system mapped out which will be it, unless it breaks! Got to get my Harbeth sound back

No, sold them unfortunately but at the time I didn't envisage coming back so soon. I would love a pair of 40.2 monitors but need a biggish room for those, so likely it'll be SHL5s again. Planning a pretty simple no fuss system - Yamaha A-S801 (one box for all), a turntable, probably Rega and either a Roon ROCK or Network Audio Adapter. Less is more suits me as you know, I don't enjoy bollocking around with Hi-Fi. I've now had more than enough of moving too (36 in my lifetime), time to just kick back and enjoy a simple life, full of music and music holidays. Off to Nashville again in Sept, happy days

Sounds like you know what you want I am not that bothered with all that data Roon provides just good to be discovering so much music I'm the same John, Roon is superb if you don't want to go exploring, as it's all there at your fingertips. But I enjoy exploring music/artists beyond Roon's limits, so it's an expensive add on. I'm really happy with JRiver, simple to use, sounds good with great indexing and the ability to handle very large music libraries - great remote apps too. I also like that I can fix anything if needs be, so it's future proof. I've a very simple system right now, which I could actually live with. But I need a few extras like headphone listening and a turntable. I know exactly what I want, which is half the battle I reckon
