You can get the Chord amps to sound pretty passable Well, if what I'm hearing is only 'passable' then bring on the improvements!

I should be getting some magnetic footers in the future. First place will be under the Salvation, but also plan to try under the amps According to Clive and Vic they take the Salvation up another notch

Depends where The salvation has a non magnetic plinth and not picking up anything using a magnetic bearing which is in a far more critical area than the footers will be I also trust Clive and Vic around this Clearaudio also use this approach but charge silly money for this

Showing Techniboots over Isonoes, a very effective isolation combination.

I found the uplift in quality very surprising, comparing to original, Isonoes then Techniboots Superb value for money
I already had a reasonable amount of mods* in place which may have helped

I finally received the other package of RDC 1 cones so I was able to try three under the Chord power amp, arranged two at the rear and one at the front, point down.
I have previously had little success with anything under the Chord, probably because I've always tried four under the Integra legs. This time, three cones hold up the chassis with a tiny (barely 1mm) clearance from the Integra feet to the shelf. Well now, this is interesting! There is a perceptible cleaning of the sound with more detail apparent around the stage, and when things get busy the sound doesn't - it doesn't break up. Instead, it holds together even on choral climaxes, notoriously difficult material, with more vocal detail coming through. This is good, in fact I'm very pleased.
I think I'll have to bite the bullet and disassemble the Integra legs, leaving just the tensioning bars in place. That way I'll be able to access the cones more easily as they're damned difficult to get to stay in the right position.

Hi Martin I did mention that would be the case and actually making full surface area contact with the true chassis of the 1200E with certain devices would bring benefits, there is an awful lot more to be extracted from the Chord, even to the point of generating a true three dimension depth though that is fairly involved! On a number of occasions I have reloacted the entire electronics to different casework including some unique shielding for the SMPS section with very positive results. With Chord you are paying for the very nice casework which is big selling point for the brand.

You'll see here, Tony, that I took you seriously and removed the Integra legs last night. There was indeed an improvement so thanks for the tip!

How much grip do the RDCs have ? The wooden cones I have, on glass shelves, make almost any kit like a jelly on a wet table

Not much, although they remain stable once I have them in the right place.

This is big advantage of the sticky Pods
Cones are great and wonderfully cheap but with almost negative friction could be very expensive
