Alan Parsons Project - Eye in the Sky is also a superb recording. As for Joan Armatrading, you'll have no argument here. I have the Nimbus cut. That is the only Nimbus Supercut I have had that isn't pissed all over by a bog standard pressing. I think Communique is generally underrated but always though 'Dire Straits' has the best sound of all their albums. Others that would qualify as contenders are Supertramp, Crime Of The Century (Speakers Corner), The Cranberries ' Everyone is doing it...... (Analog Spark / original). Tracy Chapman self titled, Alan Parsons, Turn Of A Friendly Card (Arista half speed). Also FM Rumours on Warner 45 rpm vinyl, Simon And Garfunkel, Parsley Sage Rosemary and Tyne (CBS original).
