That's actually quite easy. This is the best recording I own, bar none. James Newton Howard and Friends. It's a Sheffield Lab direct cut.

Jean Michel Jarre - Aero on CD has a superb mix if you want to show off soundstage and dynamics, the placement of the sounds is excellent.
On LP, Moving Pictures by Rush is pretty decent. Roger Waters - Amused To Death,
But by far my best LP (s) is the Kraftwerk 3D Boxset, audio quality is brilliant, silent between tracks and every LP is just perfect. When I put the 1st LP ( out of 8 in the set ), I usually end up playing through the whole set.

I've found that some artists produce consistently good quality recording - e.g. Roger Waters/Dire Straits as above. Consistently worst on my system is Elton John.

Curious
I thought Making Movies was poorly recorded - the worst of Dire Straits albums for recording quality. Although marred by fish & chips frying in places (neglect) my Love over Gold is superbly engineered
I would pick 2 extremes
Alan Parsons Project - Turn of a Friendly Card (OK, I'm making a point, I could have picked Al Stewart "Year of the Cat" or Pink Floyd "Dark Side of the Moon", or Ammonia Avenue, or...) Alan Parsons was a great engineer
Miles Davis - Kind of Blue - the DeAgostini cut (the only one I have) - this has some shockers of bad recording, not least the tape speed of the original, but is just so "live" and "in the room". I can walk around the players. I keep worrying I might jog one of them
And then my reference record - I guess there are lots for those of us Martin who love female vocals
Joan Armatrading - Joan Armatrading (1976) - track "Love and Affection" (although I could equally have picked "Willow" from "Show some emotion" as my mate Owen does)
There are lots more. Perhaps my final oddball would be "Forth of Fifth" from Genesis "Seconds Out". The album has slightly compressed dynamics, and appears to be recorded at very low gain, but is the best "live" feel of early Genesis and a great test record for imaging.
Just one? - Joan Armatrading.

Alan Parsons Project - Eye in the Sky is also a superb recording.
As for Joan Armatrading, you'll have no argument here. I have the Nimbus cut.

Interesting mentions of Dire Straits albums. I have them all and in my opinion the best recorded are Communique and Brothers in Arms.

I like the James Newton Howard. Never heard of him before. Will have to settle for the CD but Sheffield big it up

This thread should be titled "which recording do you have that sounds great no matter what you play it on". Everything mentioned in it would sound great on a Dansette

And your point is...?
(Having used my parents Dansette as my first ever 'system', I can assure you that NOTHING sounded good on it)

On the Dire Straits thing - first album - has an attitude, life and vibrancy that the second one lacks. Second album - because of the immense sales of the first album, band gets given a sizeable budget to produce the follow up to the debut. Second album is very good, and much better recorded, but fails to capture the attitude, life and vibrancy of the first album.

We'll agree to differ as I love both the first two albums with a marginal preference for Communique.

Zu - Carboniferous
One of my favorite album's from the mad Italians responsible for many clones and many side projects including Black Engine, which is also superbly recorded. This beast sounds good played on anything. One of best recordings I can think of.
On my Grado 325e so much is revealed on tracks 'Carbon' and 'Erineys' that the grooves are shown to be filled with layers I didn't hear at first.
Aside from obnoxious 'Cthonian' this album doesn't have a dull moment imo.

I find this a very odd Topic because one person may have an original pressing of an Album which could sound good but the repress may sound crap. The CD worse. I suppose its a take your word for it topic

I dislike poorly recorded albums but on the other hand I have never gone out of my way to get a special pressing or recording
