Oh yes I am designing just for fun a Class A/B (heavy A)with Class D power boost like Class G but PWM controlled. The Class G part is running at 1.0MHz

My active speakers use Hypex class D amps with a linear power supply and I really like what they do. I used to have a JL Audio F112 sub that was also class D with a linear power supply. Great sub.
More recently, my DIY sub amp(Behringer inuke6000) is class D with a smps. It performs really well for sub duties. And a friend just bought a Primare I32 integrated amp(class D smps) that he uses with some Kef reference speakers and this sounds great. I guess it’s all about the implementation.
