Well, I had some fun making some wall panels to absorb / diffuse the rear output from my dipole electrostatics - and they have worked a treat. I now have a much deeper and more precise soundstage.
As I still have some rockwool, wood etc left I thought I'd make some more and am part way through finishing another pair, this time double the original thickness of 50mm to 100mm (so better performance at lower frequencies).
So, wondered if I might sell a couple or three
Size of the standard panel is approx 1200 x 600 x 60mm. The deeper ones change the 60mm measurement to 120mm (and weigh nearly twice as much).
All the frames are cross and corner braced and, as a result, there is a 20mm air gap immediately behind the insulation (having an air gap between wall and panel is, apparently a good thing although if you mounted these 30mm off a wall it would be even better).
I've hung the standard panels by simply using a pair of medium size picture hooks and screw eyes (the deeper panels would need the heavier weight hooks I suspect).
I've just used natural calico for the covering (back and front) but any fabric that is breathable and has a slight degree of stretch will do. If you wanted to send me the fabric of your choice I can use that (min. size in 60" fabric width is 34" for slim panel or 40" for deep panel). I'll still use calico for the rear which, of course, you won't see.
Prices:
Standard panel in calico = £26
Deep panel in calico = £35
Deduct £4 if you want to provide own choice of fabric.
Can't see how to easily post though - so may be collection only from deepest, darkest Somerset (Glastonbury).
