I managed to get hold of an Original Rega Planar turntable with the Wood trim.. However i cannot stand 'R200' arm & want to replace it with a Grace 'G707' in black finish if possible, i always prefered the early Linn 'LP12' with the Grace, However what is the going rate for one these days? Ive still got a lot of 12" singles that are not available on Digital so really need to get a TT sorted..

How about an Acos Lustre, if you can find one?

I don't like the R200 either. I have first hand experience of the vast improvement made by removing it and fitting the RB300. The thing is, I'm not a massive fan of that arm either, so it doesn't say much for the R200.

I managed to get hold of an Original Rega Planar turntable with the Wood trim. Why? Cos they are cheap, No suspension & the Wood trim version looks miles better than the later naked ones.. o & it fits in to my system aesthetically & its just to play 12" singles on that i cannot get in Digital format..

I used to have a Moth Rega RB250 on my STD305S and it performed faultlessly for years ... of course I have a much better system now, but it was a great budget tonearm IMO. I was surprised to see that Moth are still going - www.mothgroup.co.uk/Products.html

Of course I would but out of my budget for now!
They come up for sale a couple of times a year on ebay and it's always painful looking at them.
If I buy anything it will be an upgraded AT-1010 - aesthetically it will be an awful match but there really is some serious engineering in that arm and I would love to try it.

The AT-1010 is a lovely arm, I can't see it looking bad on any deck.

Yes the black and gold is spot on but I just don't like the look of the engineering on Helius arms ...

I just don't like the look of the engineering on Helius arms ... The look of the engineering is representative of the real engineering in them, I believe
