Hi. I'm afraid I don't have these units but I'm trying to remember the ones you mean. Are they the square fronted units with the strips of burr wood veneer down each side of the front panels?

Hi Chris Yes that's them very powerful amps. But very scarce. I have been offered the power amp and psu but unfortunately no matching Pre. Unless you could recommend a very cheap pre to go with them?

For a pre amp, do you need inputs for several sources? What about a phono stage, do you need one of those in a pre amp too?

Need at least 3 inputs plus a phono stage if possible

Okay, as I mentioned via PM, my scanner is not working. See if these photos are of any use to you. Mark I version from February 1992:

I dont know how to tell what model it is whether its 1,2or 3 No, the ones Andre is referring to were earlier and quite different. They looked like normal width units. They were good - I heard several systems with them in.

It seems I remembered wrongly - i thought Noel Keywood raved about these amps. No, it seems he was mad about the speakers but not so much for the amps. Both reviews thought the power amps were the weakest of the two components.

I suppose it might depend on the price and what you are replacing.

At the moment i have nothing to replace due to circumstances at the time. But i have £500 to spend, would have liked a musical fidelity xa2 but cant find a nice one. I have just seen the Opera for sale on here that is beautiful. Or Inca tech Claymore has been mentioned in the past but i know nothing about those.
