I use a ruddy great big slate slab under my decks, have done for years. Seems to work Dont think it would be applicable in this case though, unless the wall shelf brackets could stand the extra 20kg of weight It's weight rated at 120kgs!!!! I've sat on it (109kgs) and it didn't budge. I can pretty much do any form of isolation but cost is prohibitive at the moment.

I have RDC Cones screwed into the Technics deck resting on an Electric Beach S1NX shelf which itself is on sorbothane pucks resting on the system rack. Near-perfect isolation but the RDCs on the shelf preserve the fast and dynamic quality that sorbothane directly under a deck can sap.

What's the clearance on them?

Which, the pucks? About 15mm.

Which, the pucks? About 15mm. I've found some RDC cones but the only give 37mm clearance. I've seen they do some cone cups so that'd probably make up the difference. Would that not defeat the point of the cone shape ?

Tried the cups and the additional bases. To my surprise the best sound was just the cones. Admittedly sitting on a S1NX platform so maybe different if used without. Odd how different kit reacts differently
Best RDCs are the ones that screw in. Not sure which sizes they come in, hopefully all

I'll seek further opinion before I spend any more money lol

Somewhere in all of this, don't forget, you have to have a means of levelling the deck. That's the problem with squishy stuff like sorbothane and inner tubes.

RDC Cones come with M6 or M8 studs (or none at all). They therefore allow for levelling. I have the turntable on just Cones but the SACD player on Cones and Cups. It's whatever works best.

Great advice Martin and everyone else. I appreciate it. Not sure I'll try the inner tube thing but I bet that's as good as anything!

Are they Bamboo? I bought some Ikea 'Variera' plate holders the other day the board looks the same?

Are they Bamboo? I bought some Ikea 'Variera' plate holders the other day the board looks the same? Yes. They are made up of laminated bamboo which has a beneficial effect in channeling resonances in conjunction with various footers used in hi fi. I use them under my power amp, turntable, phono stage and Melco streamer, in conjunction with Stillpoints footers.

At £15 each, certainly worth trying out in the system!
