Well, I am two days away from going to collect my new to me, Phonomac Technics SP10. New power supply, serviced motor parts etc, it's basically being rebuilt from the bottom up. Panzerholz plinth, sexy feet lol. I'm getting a bit excited. Thankfully, after begging for some pics, some have arrived with more to follow tomorrow!!! Thought I'd share.

Yes, mike. It'll be my last TT hopefully. Fully possible to rebuild it from the ground up if it breaks in 20 years. That's a great deal of comfort.

Nice build. I always hankered after an SP-10 motor unit, lovely deck. The 1210 will have to do as I can't see myself upgrading to another deck now.

Ive never fancied a 1210 but always wanted a SP10. Angus, has facilitated by his and without him i doubt it would be happening for me at this time. A true Gentleman.

Did you have a comparison of stock 1010 arm compared to the hot rod version?

Did you have a comparison of stock 1010 arm compared to the hot rod version? That's happening on Monday, Jules. Also a silver wired on to compare.

What are those feet, bigman? Will they give you enough isolation?
Good isolation for a turntable is difficult to achieve with single feet and can adversely affect sound quality.

Can't see those feet working properly chief unless they are suspended on elastic bands or better still metal springs?
Just got myself another SP10 as it happens. Nice job on yours.

The deck looks great.
Try putting the deck on an Ikea chopping board (the bamboo one called Tik-something) with four sorbothane pucks underneath. Gives great isolation and doesn't kill the sound.
