I was expecting 280bhp. I got 300bhp and am driving home with it (stopped for coffee). The torque is very impressive.

Any chance anyone had experience with older (2003) Honda Civics?

What kind of experience? I've been driving a '97 Civic for many years now ...

The Honda K series engine is one of the most tunable on the planet, if that's what you mean.

There was a fast Jaguar ahead of me driving home this evening and he was giving it some every time there was a break in the traffic. I deliberately left mine in 6th gear and could stay with him easily. Previously, I would have struggled to stay with him in 5th.
It doesn't half make a noise now. Typical Subaru offbeat grunty wail!

Looks like a rather cool futuristic integrated amp that has been repurposed - vu meter in the middle with volume and source selector either side ...

I'm going to a GT86/BRZ car meet tomorrow morning at Denbies Wine Estate. The Honda crowd were a good bunch of blokes, I'll see how the Toyota/Subaru crowd compares. We'll have breakfast and a tour of the winemaking factory.
It may be a bit wet tomorrow, but never mind.

There were 9 of us - girls, too - and it was great fun. If you're a car enthusiast, join a forum and meet up. It's great to talk about something outside of normal conversations! 8 Toyota GT86, 1 Subaru BRZ (mine), two different turbo installations, 2 different superchargers, all the cars modded in some way or other.

Oh Dear they look like an audiophile reject party, sorry con not resist! One thing strike you, the age range is I suspect all over 50 odd for tweaking those motors? Though at least none of them are wearing a long mac, carrying lunch boxes with curled up sandwiches or trying out compete each other with who can swipe the most audio leaflets in a branded arrier bag and wearing Pink Floyd shirts and in need of a bar of soap so hope for the world yet

I'd agree with the average age, but who do you know who's younger and can a) afford a GT86, b) afford to insure it and c) has any interest in modding or how cars actually work?

Interesting points Martin and I'm not being a dick here - but quite a few of the young lads in the North East have cars like these. The accident rate and fatalities are high. Lots of young guys, money from offshore or fishing, poor attitudes, poorly policed roads and driving well beyond their capabilities.
Glad you had a good day, quite fancy on of those forums too.
