I enjoyed the BBC2 program about Sgt. Pepper, presented by Howard Goodall. Turns out that John got the idea for "Being For The Benefit Of Mister Kite" from a poster he bought in my home town of Sevenoaks. I'm guessing it was during the filming for Strawberry Fields, in Knole Park. He (Howard Goodall) went into a bit of depth about the musical forms they used, and in a lot of cases subverted but not so deep as to put the casual viewer off. I recommend it if you missed it. It's on iPlayer for another 26 days.

I played this yesterday. Spotify, not an actual real copy. As a confirmed fan of the mono version, who has always thought the stereo one sounded utterly crap in comparison (as I do with most of their stuff that was releasedin both flavours), I think this is a major step forward. It no longer sounds like a teenager is playing with a new toy, applying obvious and overt stereo effects. The sound on many of the tracks is markedly beefier and 'She's Leaving Home' is just great.
I'll be buying a copy.
