I have a code, following the purchase of my microRendu, for a 60 day free trial. The normal free trial is for a fortnight. I cannot use this because I am already a roon subscriber.
I am happy to pass this on to any member who genuinely wishes to try roon. There is nothing to say that the code is not transferable. Please ensure your system can actually use it before you apply to me for the code by PM.
First come, first served.

Tony, if you mean exactly what you say, sorry you got it the wrong way round. Roon enhances all streaming sources I or my friends have tried, including Tidal. Your bad customer experience of Tidal may well be because they have not tried it with Roon.

I am surprised no-one has gone for this. So beit. The membership is well set up. I will advertise it elseware. Came here first because I thought here it would get the most sensible and valued trial.

Well played Greg... I tinkered with Roon on my Korus Music Server but issues with its graphics card and cost vs jRiver Media Player meant that I didn't take it any further than the trial. If they sort the graphics issues out and reduced the cost, I'd have it at a drop of a hat.

I've tried 2 weeks trial of Roon several times now ( just use a different email address ) and give it up every time. For what it does I just can't justify the cost of both Roon itself and the hardware to run Roon Core. An endpoint is easy and cheap enough, but the Core side of things isn't quite as cheap, especially if you want it to run as it should.
Plus I have a mistrust of 'lifetime' deals in the modern age of churn.

It surprises me that they don't develop a stripped down, less bloated version with a much more enticing price point. Sound wise, it was a noticeable improvement over jRiver Media Player, but cost and graphics issues did for it with me in the end...

I've never heard of this graphics issue before. I've certainly not had it.

If you scan the Roon forums Greg, issues with Intel chipped graphics cards will unfortunately appear. To be fair to Roon, they are aware of the bug and even extended my trial so as to give me the chance to update drivers etc, but even with the help of Gary/Gazjam @ Korus, nothing we tried with my server would work. The only work around was to use my Nexus 7 tablet in server option, but I found that interface a bit clunky. I could also have shelled out on a new PCI graphics card, but adding this to the cost of a 12 month licence proved prohibitive.

Greg,
Tidal has nothing to do with my comments honestly we have been Roon ready in most of our streaming products now for a while and I have been using Tidal with Roon better but still not quite there yet imho
My playback software is of a better SQ quality than Roon genuinely, however Roon's interface is far superior, mine is shall we say clunky lol
Roon is streets ahead of Jriver without question.

I do find it quite amusing that people are very happy to pay well over £1000 for a turntable/CD player/Reel to Reel tape deck etc. However apparently $500 is way to much for a lifetime licence for the most innovative Digital replay system devised.
