I feel like the reviewer from Mojo magazine - it's not quite there for me. I find it more listenable than 'Amused to Death' but I never understood why anyone might rave about that one either. There's too much recycling of past glories for me e.g. taking the riff from something on The Wall and change it ever so slightly. I shall give it a few more plays but don't expect to be rushing out to buy it any time soon.

Bought it on vinyl. Think it's damn good. At least as good as Amused To Death but more Floydian.

Thoughts on the Roger Water new cd (is this the life we really want ) I've had my copy for a while now, I had to listen to it a few times before I could get anything from it,i like 4 tracks that's a third of the cd not bad from an old man, well done Roger.
What do you think ?.

Merged into this existing thread.
I need to listen again. There are flashes of the old RW in there but I'm still to be convinced.

As I've mentioned on another forum, I'm not keen on it. It's good that there are flashes of the old Pink Floyd in it, but there's too much swearing in it. I don't mind swearing in music - I like Rage Against The Machine, but the swearing, I feel, is justified. Roger just seems to take it too far though, and it feels like he's doing it because he can. Amused To Death was fine - one track had a swear word in the chorus (Too Much Rope), and one swear word in It's A Miracle. No problem with that. This new one just seems too much though. And I wasn't keen on the amount of lines that either seemed stolen from, or reworded from old Pink Floyd tracks. I forget specific instances now as it's been a while since I heard it, but it seemed like he's trying to "tag" the earlier stuff that people like. I'm afraid it's not a purchase for me, I'll stick with Amused To Death.

For me, Radio KAOS remains his best solo work.

I think my favourite of RW is Amused to Death but I've always been into his sound effects
