jandl100 , please can you let us know why you chose this album, thank you. It's ... interesting, unusual, kinda weird, it has female vocal!, and has fantastic sound quality. It's not well known and I thought it would be new to many folk and they might enjoy it. It was a random £1.99 CD purchase in an HMV store sale about .... ooo, 20+ years ago! I was bowled over by it from the first.

Elisabeth Valletti Innocenti Elisabeth is a Harpist who comes from a classical background but also combines different styles into her compositions. On Innocenti she mixes folk and world elements into her music The album was quite challenging for me to listen too, not in a bad way as I enjoyed a lot of the music. The recording is very dynamic and whilst I do not see myself listening to the album often I actually enjoy it. So will I end up buying it, probably not I just do not see myself playing it often enough. However I think a lot of people will like this as it is so well recorded.

I already have this album. As others have said, it creates a highly unusual soundscape with the harp sometimes not sounding like a harp at all. Don't be put off by the instrument, it's very much more than just 'harp music'. Very atmospheric, different and really quite compelling. I enjoyed the chance to play it again.

I've had this album for a while, this thread prompted me to play it again. The weather outside is freezing fog....the music is so atmospheric and textured. It works with the weather and my mood. Really stunning.

Held my attention more than than the others, I think. At times I did find myself thinking the harp was going to develop into something more than it did.
Probably my favorite, with Norah Jones a close second. And I would buy it.

Yes, really like this album. I love the way in which the harp sound is intertwined with the music in a subtle and not overbearing way. This'll defiantly go on my 'to buy' list.

I've just played this and enjoyed it. As it came with no case or booklet or anything, I tried to find out a bit about it on the web, with little success. Good choice Jerry jandl100, thanks for sending it round. I liked the unusual mixture of instruments, particularly the use of the oboe, or was it a cors anglais? Currently available on Amazon Marketplace for 80-odd pence! (I'll probably buy a new copy though). I'll be playing it a few times before I send it back to Jerry. I'll have to find a jewel case for it though.

Don't bother with any fancy casing - just enough to keep the disc safe, Chris.

You know those big blue bags you get in Ikea? The ones that are about 1/2 a cubic metre in volume? I've got two of those full of empty jewel cases!!

That made me -- any particular reason you are hanging on to so many? OK, I get it, you're an audiophile, you're supposed to be strange. One of those will do nicely.

I don't mind you calling me strange, but I am extremely offended at being labelled an audiophile!

Well, Wiki defines it thusly ... An audiophile is a person enthusiastic about high-fidelity sound reproductionI'm not sure any one of us would fall outside that definition. But feel free to be offended if you wish.

Audiophilia denial is a vital part of being one though!

If you ever want rid of any of your surplus jewel cases Chris, I'd happily take a few, as I've never got enough, and as I buy a lot of second hand CDs they regularly need replacement cases. I'd happily pay for them
