Bought from a member of another forum - a NOS 401. Can't be many of these floating around. Will be sent to Loricraft for a service before use. As can be seen from the lack of wear on the thrust pad and spindle, this is indeed an unused example-

Why would you want to send a NOS unit off for a service!

Because lubricants may have hardened or become sticky?

Cause I think it's worth doing. Yes I could service it myself, but they will strip it to the last nut and bolt, and make sure it's tip top. It sat in a cupboard for decades.

Ali, are you going to Whittlebury Hall? Nick and I and possibly Nigel will be there on Sunday. Would be good to catch up at some point.

Dave, that looks nice mate, look forward to hearing it. As for the service cost, I may be able to do something about that. It's a question of speaking to the right people. ;-)
Greg, that would be good, be good to catch up with you all, it's been a while.

Very curious to hear how it compares to my existing one, which is in good nick but hardly NOS, being one year younger than me..

Do you have a plinth for it?

Post by Eduardo Wobblechops on Sept 3, 2016 11:13:03 GMT
Yes, my current unit is in a twin tier 30mm slate plinth. Arm and cart are a 774 and Benz Gullwing SLR.
