Mark was the guy who recently accused Nordost of not using the same music file when demonstrating their cables

Which is why Nordost slapped him with a cease and desist legal document.
Mark is one of the few professionals in this industry who genuinely knows about recording techniques, production and is not full of shite. Met him a few times, a real gent to, no shilling on that chap.
You could learn a lot from him coops

The video was fascinating. The Laurence Juber album, Guitar Noir, can be downloaded here www.itrax.com, and is also available on Mark Waldrep's AIX website www.aixrecords.com/The album? An audiophile recording, but not the usual dreck (blame Michael Fremer) that passes for music on such recordings.

Strat
We have been using AIX recordings for close to 10 years now, imho some of the most natural unfestered with available.
Not on the Strawberry fields that over rich guitar body sound is emphasized due to Juber's insistence on that phat body sound he was looking for.
Mark knows how to really obtain sounds that well sound correct (or a lot more correct than most!)

I'd dispute whether that sound is overly fat. It doesn't sound a million miles away from what I hear from my Martin guitar. The playing's a lot better than mine.

Strat,
The resonance body that was recorded was very closely mike'd and always gives that overly full sound, we use this particularly recording at show's to demonstrate the point of how recording techniques can influence the sound in both positive and negative ways. It does produce a lovely tone though.

I can't listen to my Martin in anything other than the near field unless someone else is playing it. Hence my comment. The recording has very accurately captured what the player can hear
