The only down side Andr'e is that the earlier decks don't have quartz lock so are prone to hunting. They won't sound as speed stable as the later decks.

Ah, OK - is this the one you are after? I can't find any pics of it in the 1210-type grey colour you are after, though.

That looks like an 'SL1500'... The 'SL150' was armless motor unit. I think the 'SL-1510' came on Techy Grey/Black

Ah, bugger. So much for Google Images! I think the 150 was just an armless 1500? Maybe?

So, yes, 'specialist tripe' isn't needed to achieve real musical satisfaction, imo. I know everyone one is different, but I agree with that 100% Jerry, certainly for me anyway.

No steve. for two reasons they are pig Ugly imho & secondly they constitute overrated specialist Hi-Fi. 'SL-150' is what i want providing they were available in dark Techy colour. Always seem to see them in Silver Okay, SL-150 it is 😊 you could perhaps respray the plinth to your ideal colour.

When i was at School this old Equipment im buying gave me so much enjoyment i was constantly glued to the Stereo, Even girls took a back seat for a bit.. I see no reason why it should not tick the same boxes again. Ever since i started getting seriously into Hi-Fi it's been nothing but disappointment to the point where i stopped listening to music for a period. The worse worse thing i ever did was buy a CD player & i mean that most sincerely folks Is this signs of a mid life crisis or just falling back down to earth? I think this happens to most of us , you start listening to the equipment and not the music , its only natural if you buy a snazzy piece of kit it will command your attention until you, a) accept it and it disappears and the music re-appears or b) you get fed up with it and buy another snazzy piece of kit and on and on Then after many years you long for the good old days when you sat in your bedroom staring at ITCOTKC gatefold.

Nah - been there, done that, got the snazzy kit. I just listen and still stare at the cover artwork and read the notes. However, Wikipedia and Spotify come to the fore when researching the artist's history and other works.

After my recent upgrades my 90% all black kit on black racks more or less disappears now
LEDs covered
Covers rarely do enough. Off I go to Allmusic, Wikipedia or others to find out more
