Opened up my AR yesterday - whilst being careful of voltages etc - and the insides are pretty damn dusty! My plan is to get into it with a paint brush and some cotton buds and clean up what I can get to safely. I've got one of those wee keyboard blower type things as well that I will use.
Anyone got any tips/advice before I start this?

Vacuum cleaner nozzle but don't touch the circuitry with it because of static charge.

Got into it using a combination of the Hoover, keyboard blower and cotton buds. What a difference! The amount of stoor on the inside was simply incredible.

I have found desktop computers to be the worst for stoor, sometimes needing an annual cleanout. I've seen processor heatsinks absolutely clogged with a mixture of stoor , fluff and pet hairs. No wonder they ran exceedingly hot.
