I think I played that as a Sinclair Basic text adventure in the eighties. In fact, I think I may have written that game in Sinclair Basic...

There was a popular adventure/quest game for the Spectrum at the time, I bought it but didn't get very far with it. I can't remember the name, now.

I used to write a monthly magazine for Adventurers that covered all these games, on the Speccy, Atari ST, Commodore 64 and PC. It ran for 29 issues and was called Spellbreaker! Mike Gerrard of Sinclair User was a fan 😊 Those were the days 😉

I also wrote a graphics suite for the Spectrum, and a MIDI step sequencer for my Casio CZ-101 synth using the Speccy's plug-in Cheetah MIDI interface. Happy daze.

Gosh - two pro gamers in our midst! In my case at least, you've put that comment in the correct thread, Martin.

Yip, never used them, too busy playing and collating the stuff for the mag. Still have a full set of issues and all of my games and Speccy 😉

Brazilian club Flamengo have won the Copa Libertadores for the first time in 38 years. So someone has put a massive Flamengo home shirt on Christ The Redeemer, the 100-foot-high statue, which stands on top of Corcovado Mountain, overlooking the team’s home city of Rio De Janeiro. I have to award full marks for Latin American " estilo". Our equivalent version of this would probably be a traffic cone on top of Nelson's column.

I think someone did the same thing with the Angel of the North statue a few years back.
