Well that worked fine! Biased out my amp without electrocuting myself!

Yes it worked fine MartinT. I found that it was a wee bit tricky to find the right spot on the valve pin to get a reading but I simply persevered and with what I learned from Eduardo Wobblechops and the page I linked to then it turned out OK. Feel quite pleased with myself - I've learned a bit,I don't have to bother anyone else now and to get it biased out is £25 a time round these parts. I also have 2 sets of EL34s and 1 set of 6CA7s so it's a very handy thing to be able to do. I was going to photograph the process and post a wee thread but I didn't have a hand free for the camera!!

Oh,forgot. I'm also going to try using it to see if a valve is proper goosed. There's a slight ringing noise runs through it so I think it is but I shall plug the quad of them in and look for big current fluctuations. Hope it's not because it's a Black treasure and the other three are ok. Not sure what to do about that as a new quad is £250!!! and replacing a single one throws the quad to mince. Bloody good valves them as well.
