Thanks. This is my second pair of PYE HF25 amps. I sold a pair in 1985 and regretted it ever since. Took me all these years to get another pair, and now I'm too scared to power them up. They just look so wrong The OPTs wiring, the power caps, grid stopper components and all those poly carb Caps..... All questionable. Took 3 months to ship from Canada to me in Aus. Another three months to get all the correct valves and still can't power on Can't risk damaging the incredibly rare output transformers. But I had to have them www.analogplanet.com/images/styles/960-wide/public/photo_post/%5Buid%5D/IMG_0008.JPGI have seen TheMooN around and his PYE stuff - so really hoping he's still around. Or anyone else wo knows about them. They are stunning when they are running. I have a huge pair of Lowther Acoustas which are incredible when driven by these (or a set of PF91s) They are incredibly sensitive speakers. Like the Pye mono blocks - they were also made in the 50s and still have the original drivers. I guess the Australian climate as been kind to them. If I was still in London, I'm sure the drivers would have gone by now. www.lowthervoigtmuseum.org.uk/lowtherAcousta.htmlLooking forward to posting pics Thanks for having me here

TheMooN are you also called Relic Amps on FaceBook? I notice that he has the exact same photos of your restored PYE HF25s that you posted earlier in this thread. This is the main reason for me reaching out to you. You seem to have a good working knowledge about these particular amps. Please let me know Thanks.

Is the black base part of the amplifier, or a separate piece Tony?

Hi Matt,
No its solid aluminium intergal heat sink, this is a medium weight amplifier 76Kg but quite managable for a 'big' amp compared to the krell I'm currently repairing its a bantum weight lol
