Take note of your Uncle Martin, Mike - he speaks the truth. The best version of 'Persephone' is on 'Live Dates 2'.

Can't agree with you there, Jammy. I think Ozzy was the voice of Sabbath and the first five albums are their classic period. Can't say I like Dio nearly as much.

1884? Is that an earlier version of Van Halen - 1984? The Victorian Mix!

I love Dio in Rainbow great mid range one of the best rock voices period, but has to be Ozzy with Sabbath for me I saw ELF in the early 70's John, who were support for Deep Purple - still remember it now as they were impressive and rank as one of the best support bands I have seen. I saw Rainbow too, which was pretty much all of them with Blackmore and I agree, Ronnie James Dio has one of the great rock voices. Saw him with Sabbath, but never saw the Ozzy Sabbath, which for me is the only one . . . Sabbath ain't Sabbath without Ozzy to me.

We saw Sabbath around the same time I presume Hammersmith Odeon I also love the first Ozzy album with Randy Rhodes playing I was lucky to see Randy play before the plane crash. The end solo on Mr Crowley can still send shivers down my spine

The first time I saw Sabbath was at the Lewisham Odeon, around 1973 or 74. It remains one of the loudest gigs I have ever attended.
